I'm looking for more regular work but there doesn't seem to be much around where I live. Any of the jobs I've seen on here are further afield. It seems that sods law has kept the employers in separate areas to us guys that are keen

Change your location then don't expect work to come to you ! Get up and go to the work 🖒

I'm working but I would like something with a better employment future. I'm not knocking the guy I work for but he's just starting up his business so at the moment it's not as settled. With a family, kids and a mortgage it's not easy to up sticks.

And@Departed mate, that pay for your experience is borderline extortion. You realise minimum wage is going up to £8.50 in just over a year? I think you need to have a serious chat with your employer and other tree gangs in the area.

I hear you, and it's a constant battle between us and the boss. I'm not the only one on this low wage in this company.

I'm getting a chunk of money behind me and I'll start up on my own. Some subbying and some of my own jobs.

Relocating isn't an option for me and my family. But there's definitely a lot of work available to those that are willing/able to travel for the right job.

Anyway, sorry for the detail OP!

Anywhere near me?
I'm in Snowdonia.

Just outside Guildford in Surrey. To be honest the only arb site I’ve posted the job on is Arbjobs. The rest have been standard recruitment sites. I’ll post it on here and the usual social media one too. It’s a secure job with a good mixture of tree work and good kit.

That's a shame, for me!
Best of luck finding someone decent mate.
