extendable hedge trimmer options

i'm thinking of getting the stihl extendable pole saw ht 103 and putting a hedge trimmer attachment on it for the larger/taller hedges

after talking to various shops they have said that I can't fit a hedge trimmer attachment on the end, as they have changed the design of the shaft so it won't fit. they have said that recently they have changed the shape of the shaft to a square one to make it more ridged. 

I looked at the battery ones but so far I haven't got any other battery machines so to get this type of set up would cost a lot as I need the charger and a couple of batteries.

so what are people using/recommend for this type of machine?

I've got the stihl extending long reach battery hedge cutter. Cost was about the same as a petrol but this is longer. Yes batteries are expensive but it's yet to run out on me (ap300) but at about 180 mins that's a lot of high reach cutting so lasts all day.

I've got the echo pole saw. It's adjustable length and you can get a 4ft extension. It's advertised as being able to have the hedge trimmer head fitted. I've used it on some tall hedges and wide ones, becomes a little hard to use when extended and with the 4ft extension but has saved me a few times.
