Looked at it but it had a hard life- needed range change syncros doing in gearbox, and king pin bearings replacing. Gotta 1650 with 18" morbark, 130 tipper( should have got a 110 instead) MAN and Iveco 7.5 tonners, apart from that yard is looking a bit empty

whats the deal with pto speeds on mogs i thought you had to have a u1200 to atleast make a farmi 260 chipper run decent?

 

the power loss of 540/1000rpm PTO systems in Unimog is about ~15% (DIN), so a 100HP DIN at the flywheel will be 85hp DIN at the PTO shaft.

 

u1000 (424) = engine ~95hp = PTO ~80.75hp

u1000 (427) = engine ~102hp = PTO ~86.7hp

u12#0 = engine ~125hp = PTO ~106.25hp

u14#0 = engine ~136hp = PTO ~115.6hp

u1500 = engine ~150hp = PTO ~127.5hp

u16#0 = engine ~156hp = PTO ~132.6hp

u17#0 = engine ~170hp = PTO ~144.5hp

u21#0 = engine ~214hp = PTO ~181.9hp

u24#0 = engine ~240hp = PTO ~204hp

 

the gear ratio of the 540rpm PTO speed is 4.08:1, so 540rpm on the PTO takes place at ~2203rpm engine.

 

the gear ratio of the 1000rpm PTO speed is 2.32:1, so 1000rpm on the PTO takes place at ~2320rpm engine.

 

using the 1000rpm PTO speed to supply 540rpm the engine must turn NO faster than ~1253rpm.

 

NOTE: running the engine at ~1253rpm the HP output will be much reduced from the above figures!

 

u1000 (424) = engine @ 1250rpm = PTO ~40hp

u1000 (427) = engine @ 1250rpm = PTO ~43hp

u12#0 = engine @ 1250rpm = PTO ~47hp

u14#0 = engine @ 1250rpm = PTO ~51hp

u16#0 = engine @ 1250rpm = PTO ~60hp

u17#0 = engine @ 1250rpm = PTO ~67hp

u21#0 = engine @ 1250rpm = PTO ~74hp

Have you had that chipbox full yet? just intereseted what it handles like. I know from my past mogs with the chipbox full and chipper on rear 3 PL steering can get a little light to say the least, now only tow the chippers or have put them on front in the past.

yeh iv filled it up loads of times it drives ok but i drive it slow not point in frashing the guts of of it.I worked in croydon the other day, drove it around the m25 i was a bit nervus driving past the leatherhead turning and we know why that is. Drove full to the brim fine plodding along at 45 to 50 mph on motorway. It does not sway to much and steering is fine.

 

how old is your 130 ??

Just been reading up on the specs, the 1650 is 15" wider than the landy, wouldn't have a hope of getting it down some of the driveways the landys been down.

 

Do you do domestic or mainly commercail, how do you find them for domestic work. You know what its like 10ft nearer the job can save a lot of time

??????1650's are only 2 inch wider than a 1000.
