I'm really no fan of any of them to be honest, but the thought of Cameron's cronies getting in makes my blood run cold. The fact that the future leader of this country, his Chancellor, 1 possibly 2 of his Cabinet, and the mayor of the Capital city attended not only the same privileged University but were also members of the same exclusive, super-rich club, says a helluva lot about social mobility (or lack of) in this country.

He has spent the entire period of labour goverment selling the idea that prudent financial management means spending more than you earn and borrowing more than you can afford to pay back.

Possibly the biggest long term disaster that has ever been chancellor let alone Prime Miinister

Regards

Mac

Billions and billions of OUR money spent on education, health, police etc and what do we have in terms of improvement to show for it?

Our children, and quite likely theirs, are going to have to pay off all those debts.

That labour disaster youtube vid is poppycock imo; any gov would have taken us into war; a different gov might have had the balls to act on the realisation that it's a waste of time and get out of Iraq and Afghan. Bowing at the alter of political correctness, eroding traditional values and legislating to popularity rather than what is right, sums labour up for me.

........socialist policy is abhorrent to the British ideas of freedom. Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance...

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”

...A good many of those gentlemen who have these delightful, rosy views of a great and brilliant future to the world are so remote from hard facts of daily life and of ordinary politics that I am not very sure that they will bring any useful or effective influence to bear upon the immediate course of events...
