Bat inspections

Does anyone have any decent links for information regarding bat inspections? I have one to do in a couple weeks and would like to refresh my memory a little

this has the basics, i can get the wife to sort some more detailed pdfs if you need them (i think)

 

just an idea and i dont know how copyright would stands but a reference section on the website might be a pretty useful tool, eg links to docs/reports on various aspects of tree work, like H&Saftey, protected species, and other stuff?

http://www.bats.org.uk/ u find training courses etc here....... i did a bat survey on 8 dead chestnuts a few months ago but i had qualified bat surveyor on the ground pointing out the places he wanted checked out.......lantra do an arborist bat awareness course but it doesnt qualify u 2 do surveys

the trouble and strife can do bat surveys and has advised on arb work before as part of her job, so if anyone wants any advice just drop me a pm and i will get her to answer it!

 

had half a forest of paper come through the post today from the bat conservation trust, which as an organisation is trying to engage with the people effected by the legislation, which is more than can be said for many of the organisations representing protected species!

I've done a fair bit of that,never found a bat in a tree,good fun with the endescope,find plenty slugs and spiders.

Did find two bats in bat boxes we were checking.

well make sure u hav aerial rescue person/climber as back up, got to do everthing by the book and the extra money too LOL

I didnt put a huge premium on the work, although higher than my usual dayrate for freelancing.....its going to be like a day off for me!!
