Has any one looked at the husqvarna HE3. For a start it's gearbox is a lot more heavy duty with proper casings and proper bearings! You will wear the stihl out if you going to be using it all day.

Bought my Stihl HSA 86 Hedgecutter in 2014 and no problems with gearbox and used almost daily on maintenance.

Been running a km130 for the last year. Great kit, loads of power, but with a 1m extension after a few hours I get a bad arm ache.

Got an msa200 battery saw, really impressed.

I really dislike exhaust fumes, vibration and the noise of petrol engines.

Thinking of getting the electric shorter hedge cutter and maybe an extendable one for next year.

I'm waiting for a 90cc petrol-saw to be replaced by a battery one.

The futures electric.

have you read this somewhere or is this your experience from stripping them both down for repairs?

Stihl all the way. I have three HS hedge trimmers, the long reach hedge trimmer, back pack blowers and strimmer.
Over the years I have tried different brands but truth is, you get what you pay for.
At this time of year, I am using the long reach on a daily basis and I know I can rely on it.
Most of the rechargeables don't have enough power for larger jobs.
Cannot help with a light mower. I end up lifting my Haytors or using a couple of scaffold boards to get to difficult areas.
