MonkeyD is the man. Aesculin found in in the fruit and sapwood/bark displays a natural fluorescence in water.

 

You guys could have googled it just as easily!!!!

In 20 years of cutting trees down I have never dismantled a Horse Chestnut in the rain.

 

Last month I did and I managed to turn a drive way into something resembling pools of red diesel ( that turned blue in time) , I also made 2 white vans look like they where streaked in rust top to bottom. One was not mine ! Not forgetting the white painted window sills that turned orange.

 

Next time I will wait till its dry.

Chicken and egg, without the forum there may not be the info to google...

 

Anyway, my baby girl has medication with Aesculus extract for her tummy troubles.

I was surprised to be prescribed that.
