Ended up getting 40KG of (new) gym weight plates for £30 posted. Can't complain at that. Just need to figure out a heath-robinson-tastic combination of bolts, cable ties and strapping to hold them on securely.

Concrete weighs about 2400kg per cubic metre whereas steel is about 8000kg for same volume.

 

Just in case someone thinks their concrete weights need to be the same size. But I don't think we have any daft people on here[emoji849]

A 13kg propane bottle, cut the top off, pack it with scrap (old disc brakes are good) fill the gaps with sand and then weld the top back on.

Mine is 85 kg.
