Cheap, small tractor weights?

I bought some 25kg massey weights for £30 quid a piece second hand. I also thought about plate steel offcuts from a local engineers yard.

Ended up getting 40KG of (new) gym weight plates for £30 posted. Can't complain at that. Just need to figure out a heath-robinson-tastic combination of bolts, cable ties and strapping to hold them on securely.

Good stuff. Beats having a mate riding shot gun on the bonnet all day.

I have 5 MF weights plus a drain grid on my B7100D, bolted two pieces of hefty angle on the original bar to give extra width.

Good use of drain grid. I've got a couple of old.fire grilles saved up.in case the weights alone aren't enough!

Well I have around 160kgs and the front end can still be a little light at times but then the tractor is only just under 500kgs

Concrete weighs about 2400kg per cubic metre whereas steel is about 8000kg for same volume.

 

Just in case someone thinks their concrete weights need to be the same size. But I don't think we have any daft people on here[emoji849]

A 13kg propane bottle, cut the top off, pack it with scrap (old disc brakes are good) fill the gaps with sand and then weld the top back on.

Mine is 85 kg.
