I personally think 12 inch chippers are a bit over kill less you have something to load them with. My digger and bandit I can chip absolutely masses of brash and with the grab being quite tough i can pre break forks and awkward branches.

With human power alone there not great.

I filled a walking floor in 2 days the other week with bandit and digger, the only time anyone got a sweat on is when I left my heated seat on to high

Looks like a nice chipper vermeer, but on a demo, i do not want to see how well the machine chips logs, rather see how it handles twisty, forky thorn tree tops or the like. I bet that is where the hydraulic crush comes in good.

I used to use a Vermeer 1200 where I used to work. Awesome machine! If you could fit it into the rollers it would chip it. We used to fell whole trees, winch them to the the rollers and with the hydraulic crusher just chip the tree whole, didn't seem to breakdown as much as the two bc 1000s or 1800s we also had. If I could only have one chipper this would be it.

The BC1200 does seem a more modern machine where as the 1000 and 1800 are long in the tooth.

Saying that the Bandit design has changed very little over the years...

We are fans of both Vermeer and Bandit, it's just seems Bandit have the greater choice in the UK at present particularly above 12"

That's why a winch helps with the output of the chipper, drop large chunks winch them straight in.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Drag the butt onto the tray with the winch and then reposition the hook further along to lift the chunk up and into the feed rollers. Saves a lot grunt work.
