Echo CS360TES bar chain and parts advice

So I got my hands on a echo 360tes for £50 !

Nothing wrong with it apart from a training company had no use for it due to changing fuels to Aspen. Right place right time

 

Obviously it has seen use. I own a 201t as my main saw but want to use the echo for sub contracting and save my 201t for my own jobs and bigger trees.

 

I would like to change the bar and chain to more well known products for ease of replacement but finding replacements to start with seems very hard, help!!

 

I am also thinking of changing filters and running gear as I would like it to run well and hopefully last a year or two without problems. What would you guys change/ replace?

Also where can I get parts from ?!!! Any internet sites I find are American or strange looking.

I'd give forest and arb a call for any replacement parts. If you have a Google you should be able to find a pdf parts catalogue with diagrams etc to download. I personally wouldn't change any parts unless they actually need replacing however a good strip down and clean out with an air line wouldn't go a miss. With regards to bar and chain get yourself on chainsaw bars/sugihara bars. Mine is running on a 12" sugi pro light multimount bar with 3/8 .43 chain and due to its narrow kerf it flies! Lastly...I expect this to be your saw of choice once you have given it a try. Mine tops the stihl 201 hands down in my opinion

remove the spark screen but replace the small screw! Don't leave it idling too long or the plastic exhaust cover will burn.

What bar does it have at the moment? If it's an 'echo' bar I think they're tsumura's. Our 8002 came with a tsumura bar at least.

It currently has a battered echo bar on but was hoping to find a bar that might interchange with my 201t , that way I can be happier buying a more pricey bar

It has been run on 2 stroke for a long time, so if they change to Aspen it will seize the engine.

 

You can run a saw on Aspen and then change to two stroke

But you cannot go from 2 stroke to Aspen

 

 

When the Aspen is used on a saw that has only run 2 stroke then the Aspen can easily dislodge the carbon build up in the engine causing the seizure.

Who told you this ? I used my old Dynamac on cheap oil and unleaded for many years and it's run quite nicely on Aspen even though the manufacturer recommended 25:1 mix originally. I used to run it 40:1 anyway because it smoked like an ex miner on 25:1. The carbon doesn't fly off in big lumps it's only a thin coating and it goes out the exhaust as it burns up.
