Which manufacturer does these?

I'm not with you LOL.......

Wheeled chipper?.. a chipper you pull behind your truck..

IE, bite the bullet and opt for bigger chipper that you pull behind your truck..

All depends how much work you do tree wise... if that little chipper ain't cuttin it, then just get a bigger one...

You said you'd have to come to pick up your tractor up, well then, you'd only be doin the same thing only this time your coming back with the trailer to pick up what you can't get in your truck first time round....

Hi all

I'm going to be upgrading from a CS100 this year, it's a good enough "wee chipper " but I feel it's now time to upgrade to 6inch with roller feed.

The main benefit from the wee chipper is it can be wheeled to anywhere and chip in to beds or in to wheelie bins if we need to take the chip away, bad things is the vibrations (I'm still suffering from 8 hours use on friday), snedding up even the smallest of forked branches, it's slow and the blades need to be ultra sharp in order for it to draw the branches in. I could go on.

As I run a L200 and 16ft caged trailer a road tow isn't an option but I'm thinking of a compact tractor and PTO chipper.

We also do a power of grass cutting, mainly big sites where it would come in handy if we bought a deck.

The only drawback with the tractor is I'd need to do a double run at the end of the day to dump the chip at the yard then collect the tractor other than that is there any drawbacks of a pto chipper?

I was looking at a 26hp tractor and a 33hp tractor, obviously the 33hp would be better but would the 26hp do?

Thanks

Keep the Wee Chipper ... trust me on this .

we run a john deere 3720 45hp compact tractor and use a timberwolf 150 pto chipper.

works well but there are minor issues that need overcome.

tractor doesnt like weight of chipper behind it on anything other than flat ground, side slopes or in woods even a little are downright scary! front weights and maybe water in tyres sort this.

ground clearance can be an issue - very easy to either hang chipper up on something or bash underside of tractor, doubt you get bash plate other than custom made for this.

however its great compared to moving branches and the 6 inch capability saves a lot of snedding.

Agreed, mine was much improved with front wheel weights, and had belly/front and side guarding made up
