So... on stihl hedge trimmers, strimmers, etc there is a plug which can be removed for grease filling. However rather than use the stihl tubes of grease that thread in to the hole the plug came from I wondered if there is an adapter that can be fitted on to a regular grease gun? :001_smile:

Think you can screw in a grease nipple instead of the plug . Then you can use a regular grease gun . Did it on my Husqvarna kit anyway .

Never thought of screwing in a grease nipple. I don't suppose anyone knows the housing thread size?

11 x 1.5 I think and there are no off the shelf grease nipples that size. Eagle eye has the right idea, just drill and tap a blank plug.

You can buy an attachment for a normal grease gun which you can just screw into the thread.

Here you go

[ame=https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thread-Double-Coupler-Operated-Flexible/dp/B00BG8WIC8/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1486900134&sr=8-16&keywords=grease+gun+flexible+hose]3/8" Male Thread Double Coupler Manual Operated Flexible Grease Guns Hose 245mm Length: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools[/ame]

I use this for exactly the same purpose.
