I weighed one a few dumpy bags, 8-14 inch logs averaged about 160kg, sub 8 inch logs weighed just over 200.

To many variables to give an answer to the above question though, just my results based on interest.

hi, just a quick one. can anyone tell me what a cubic meter of dry, hardwood logs weigh. alternatively, how many cube to a ton.

thanks

dave

Why?? Logs should be sold by volume, not weight?

oohh no, here we go again

Mmmm, I know i have done my fair share of winding people who dont sell by volume, but if you are buying cord timber in, it is usually bought per ton.

But, if buying green cord you are only likely to get 1.6 - 1.8 cube of dry firewood from it.

Hope that helps without causing confusion:blushing:
