So what happens if there's no plate on the trailer?

They use the combined load index of all the wheels.

This would in all cases be more than the plated weight would be.

Or overloaded.

You get weighed & nicked for over loading.

Over loading is a different offence to no towing licence.

Literally the most piss off thing I've had to think about wasting the best part of half a grand on in my life, still need to get it done but it disgusts me

The test costs £500 :001_huh:

So you don't think they would do you for both?

I bet your customers feel the same about a few little cuts to get a tree down lol.

Like most things its knowing where & when to make those cuts.

Did you feel the same about getting your car licence or your saw tickets?

That would depend. They would have to weigh you to prove over weight. They only have to add two numbers up to prove no licence.

Most people done for no towing licence are not overloaded at all.

However if you were then yes I would expect you to get done for that too.

Just like they will also do you for no insurance if you do not have the correct licence.

The points & fine for both offences will just about make you un insurable for a long time for a sensible cost.
