New saw required

Statistically; doesn't take much working out.

 

The Stihl 036 must have been the best saw ever made...

 

I have an old 036 Gumtree bargain from before they fitted a decompression valve to them. It's identical to an 034 except for the badge. It still runs great.

was given a very noice 034 be a customer 18 munts ago, tis hanging up on a hook in me garage.

Get your head round it .it's really quite simple. 1 brand new stihl has been re built 3 times and still has the well known clutch problem. My Dolmar has been the most unreliable saw I have bough in the last 10 yrs and my 2x560 and 1x550 have been faultless and get worked hard! Lucky/unlucky probably but that's the way it is!

was that a 261? did you replace the crank and still find it wrecked bearings and caused the chain brake to stall it?

just asking because we are considering a new crank on one at work but not sure whether the problem will surface again.
