Get saving as usually with euro auctions you need 10k deposit to get a bidders paddle saying that it will put some off and you usually end up bidding against the dealers. I have been to the leeds auction a couple of times and in the main the prices are reasonable but nothing is given away.

I noted the Hewdens auctions were "unreserved", which gave me hope, but now with internet bidding, who knows, and if owt like cattle marts the dealers are likely to make it expensive for a private individual to bid, "on their patch".

I would suspect it will make all its money, often close to new price. New kit is going up due to currency and there is often a waiting list. This is genuine kit being sold for a genuine reason . You need to price up what you want carefully from a dealer where you have a comeback and allow for auction buyers premium if there is any. I think most of it will go abroad

My instincts exactly Harry.

Same as after the spectactular collapse of the housing boom over here, there should have been a plethora of cheap diggers and construction plant on the market.

Cept!

It all went abroad.

Why not try and go to Hewdens directly...???

'It's a disposal auction 'for a reason'...

I used to work for Nixon Plant Hire, and many people would come straight to us to buy a machine, thus leaving the really bad stuff for the auctions...
