Hi all,

Have a large pile of logs at the yard now and firewood is fairly busy in the winter months. This however is very labour intensive with our small splitter.

From experience only can somebody recommend a processor that is reliable and good quality. I want a portable/ towable one as it can then be hired out. Diameter of wood is anything from 5" to large rounds.

No PTO as I don't own a tractor.

Advice or tips all welcome.

Thanks,

Yes can't go wrong with the WP36. It is tough enough but hired out into the wrong hands could come back bent so would recommend hiring with operator. Surprisingly quick when processing big rings but get the extra lever to operate the splitter separately.

The WP36 is what I'd recommend if you were to go down the buying a processor route.

Alternatively, have you thought about hiring in a processor to clear your pile of logs? It would take many, many days of processing to arrive at the cost of a road towable processor.

The road towable WP36 is about £12k to buy or they can be hired in most areas for around £300/day give or take a few quid with no worries about maintenance, running costs or finding someone decent to operate it
