Am I right in thinking that in Northern Ireland the tariff is not tiered ? So unlike England, there is no limit to the revenue that can be generated?

Not sure.

I am sure a NAO investigation (or similar) into which are genuine and reasonable installations and which are cash cows should be implemented to "fix" what appears to be a state sponsored scam in NI.

we run one at our yard, and since we have the logs coming in, it is almost free heat, solar panels have also been put in with batteries so we actually store and use what is generated, for a farm that has a few businesses running out of it, it genuinely reduces the carbon footprint and does make good use of the RHI scheme, we installed in 2014.

Due to my dads relationship with sea forth docks, he is working with Peel ports to install a biomass system, they have literally tons of waste wood from steel and various other shipments, that they are paying veolia big bucks to haul away, there will be a boiler going to heat the straddle crane workshop, massive shed and none of the wood will have to be carted big distances (not including those on the ships!). Saves a massive carbon footprint of lorry miles hauling scrap timber away.

The RHI, as discussed, was lucrative to start off with and I've seen a few big installs where heat is almost wasted just to generate, its a shame they made it so easy to exploit! Although if they had kept it tightly regulated at the start it wouldn't have 'snowballed' like it has.

yep one farmer was forecasted to make a couple million from the scheme for heating an empty shed, the more you burn the ore you earn, eg for every pound you spent you got back, 1.60
