Bloody hell Steve! My Mrs is ill so I'm cooking & I thought I had my big boy pants on because I checked there was nothing in the oven before turning it on, now I've burnt the pizza because I was reading your government fear inducing propaganda post!... Grrrrrrr

Not sure if bird flu is government propaganda?.... if it is then in this case it could be called Government GooseyGanda

 

I'm a master at burning pizza too. It's like one minute it's all gooey.... I go sit down and 30 seconds later it's heavily chargrilled.

 

If your runner ducks get the runs there is a good chance you don't want to use them for pizza toppings.

They say to keep the birds 'indoors'...

 

But does that mean in the coop only (they'll not doubt go stir crazy for 30 days if only in there), or can they still have their space scratching about in the run?

 

I have a few in the back garden, their run is mesh fronted with the roof covered with clear corrugated sheets, so I'm just wondering what an office pen pusher's meaning is when they say 'indoors'...?

From what I've read I'm leaning towards making sure their feed & water is kept undercover in the coop run to deter wild birds feeding alongside them and/ or pooping through the mesh .... if you have a mesh coop run pop your food and water in that section.

 

If you have a tin roof with mesh sides then I reckon that's as good as being indoors..... unless you have 100's or 1'000's of supermarket birds in which case you will (no doubt) already have a plan in place to keep them in a massive barn for them to stand wing to wing for at least 30 days.
