This does set really well, would of liked to get another wrap on but cut the cord too short. Any issues with less wraps or is there a minimum there should be ?

I use a longer cord and put 5 wraps then 2 twists. This seem to suit me for my size/weight (105kg).

I trys 4w & 3t but found that it tended to bind too much.

Is there a minimum of wraps on a VT?

Not sure if there's a minimum but I'm approx 80kg and used to run 3 wraps 2 plat's and it worked fine. Never had any problems with it not holding or biting too hard and it self tended very well with enough rope weight below.
