at risk of stating the obvious...

 

can you not just build a fire around the stump ( which has been dug around) and just sit back and drink tea, occasinally topping up fire to make sure stump burns?????

i was thinking that from the start but didnt say anything cus i didnt want to look special :P

Done stump..no pics though as were working so hard!

 

It had about 60k of concrete attached to it at the bottom / red bricks / and metal poles through it.

 

No access for crane / fire would have been just stuuupid!

 

thanks to guy working for me ( sharpened chainsaws about 10 times today ) we managed to cut enough of to roll it over..then about 2 hrs of smashing it with sledge hammer.

 

Mark Bolams idea of power washer worked best. managed to clean dirt off enough to make some good cuts.

 

Took about 5 hrs to do..felt bad charging costumer 250 for it...but had to replace chains.
