Nothing wrong with taking pride in your machine! To me the Volvo ec27 (not sure about the ECR26)look like they have far too many welds on the boom that go across as if it's just 2 parts welded together unlike the Kubota design, I'm sure they have engineered it right but just looks like a weak point.

I wouldn't worry about the Volvo build, best backup in the business and in the extremely unlikely event you broke it, of all manufacturers I'd put my money on them most likely to stand by it even out of warranty.

 

Kubota always great fit/finish and paint you literally need to use a grinder to mark it permanently.

Apparently the Volvo ec27c has a floaty blade, I'm just waiting for a price. There seems to be no used machines anywhere. Apparently thanks to the weak pound there all getting exported, thanks leavers.

I've asked on my Twitter account and replies are coming back that Bobcat seem to have the float blade, along with certain Volvo models.

Nobody has come up with any others as yet, but I'll post them up if they do.

 

The Ec27 always looks a tidy bit of kit and is a full fat version.

 

Yes there's going to be a bit of export back on at present, and if you've not bought by 1st of Jan, expect a price increase on the new 17 plated machines.

This happened yesterday so today I'm doing some serious digger shopping

If anyone knows how to change a started motor with out having the engine out can they let me know

I assume then that the starter motor is at the back, pretty much behind the seat? My Takeuchis both had a panel behind the seat that you could remove to access the rear of the engine.....

Yep

Theres a small panel you can get to under the seat, just enough to short it out of boff it with a mallet handle to confirm dead

This is what. H brains chewing over all weekend

 

The volvos bigger with better cab and more sort after

 

The Bobcats more compact with fractionally less performance but less sort after, also 3k cheaper and comes as standard with radio
