i have just got one of these and it didnt come with an anchor strap, what do people use ??

 

also does it stay put with just the one strap or have people bought the optional plate that gets cut into the tree?

only used this a couple of times but seems like a nice little fixed bollard, good value if your on a budget and nicer to use than a floating portawrap imo.

Mine came as part of a kit with a standard 5m orange (4t?) ratchet strap, it so much better than my old porta wrap, didn't know that the extra hole was for a plate, although I've lowers some decent sized lumps with it it has never slipped

Any type of bollard is better than a Portacrap.

IMO anyway.

haven't got the plate but i put a big shackle through the hole and put a second ratchet strap round the tree, probably total overkill but thought it best till i saw how it behaved in action, but it didnt seem to slip at all ( nothing mega mind).

the fixed bollards just seem much more positive and a lot easier to tension up the line.

i bought one of these years ago. it should come with a strap. They are great bits of kit for small to medium rigging. I prefer to use it with a 14mm rope - 19mm is a bit too thick for it in my opinion.

As long as its tightened on properly it shouldn't move. I have taken some fairly big stuff with it, blocking down dead elms and the like. Its also really easy for an inexperienced groundy to get the hang of.
