Canada announced this back in December 2024

https://www.canada.ca/en/public-safety-canada/news/2024/12/the-government-of-canadas-border-plan-significant-investments-to-strengthen-border-security-and-our-immigration-system.html

So what was the big deal of the tariffs if he just dismissed them without gaining a single thing. Shirley it just makes him look weak. Unless he just wanted to create and buy the dip in crypto like :)

And do you think plastic bank notes Carney will do anything better then Castro Trudeau before they all get kicked out for Pierre?.

Historically there wasn't a need for a massive border between Canada and the USA, there's a town that straddles it.

Probably due to Trudeau letting in massive numbers from India and elsewhere and the houses being almost impossible to buy as a result they have just walked over.

Yes, but mostly irrelevant to what Trump is doing with his tariffs isn't it? (threat, 'negotiate', publicise big wins (that might have already been negotiated))

And Kier's negotiations are working so spectacularly?.

Kier bent over a table with his little EU masters, head turned to the side blowing a kiss and telling them no need for lube as he likes being fkd to the point of prolapse, have I got that right ?.

Labour and the EU have zero negotiation ability.

Labour bashing or adoration would go into the 'Who likes Labour' thread?

Trump bashing or adoration would go in this thread?

There is a little overlap of course but I don't think that Starmer or Trump have announced any results of any negotiating yet, or from Trump and tariffs on UK goods. However with the news catching up on Trumps twatterings, it appears that his negotiating with Mexico worked so spectacularly that they agreed to continue with the agreement they'd made with Biden and nothing more. With Canada he just rolled over and dropped the tariffs threat when they went 'fine, cancel the contracts and don't sell US goods'. None of the threatened EU or UK tariffs appearing, is that maybe that the EU and UK have stood together a bit, Trump finds it hard to divide and conquer (his favourite technique) against a united opposition.

As I mentioned above, so far his international relations and negotiations have been bluster and bluff, no substance and business as it was at the end of 2024 despite the bravado he went into office with, wanting to change the world quickly... I think we'll be waiting a while yet.

Summary, waaaaaah, then insert and repeat oh he's a bad man.

The EU and Starmer like telling everyone beforehand what they want and how they might capitulate and roll over for a tummy scratch.

Donald goes all in as all good negotiating saying what you want but not what you're willing to move on.

Willing to get fkd providing you've bought me dinner Vs fk me and we'll talk over a cigarette but they've already pumped and dumped.

You talking the Labour thread or the POTUS thread?

Funny that, geopolitics all connected to two simple mindsets, fancy that.

It's amazing how student politics doesn't work in practice, just ask those WEF stooges that came, left a bad smell and disappeared under a cloud of utter hatred by their electorate.
