Tool Theft

Morning chaps,

Sadly whilst I was working in bashley in the new forest yesterday, my van was broken into at 12 midday and I had the following stollen:

Fs130 kombi engine with grey and red Kawasaki strimmer handle on it

Br600 back pack blower with "J" written in permanent marker written on the back

2 x hs86 side swipe hedge cutters with long 40 inch bar

The getaway car was a silver mondeo type with jk05 the first part of the number plate.

I chased one guy on foot for him to vanish heading towards new Milton and for car headed towards sway village.

I know the likelihood of the guys being caught is very slim but I thought I'd throw a message out to any local tradesmen who may be offered any tools, if not just to remind you lads to keep an eye on your stuff with Christmas around the corner, I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else

have you told the police? with a partial registration I'd think there would be a chance they could find the culprits.

Safely unless they catch the culprits red handed there is little chance of s prosecution, you call the police for a crime number only these days.

Even if you do catch them red-handed the CPS say it's circumstantial evidence and won't prosecute.

Yep, we caught them on cctv stealing our saws from site, full reg plate of vehicle clear footage and their faces as they left site, they were even known to police for previous offences.

They searched their premises found no saws so didn't bother to push for a prosecution.

Makes me sick, but you just got to not let it get you down and move on.

We recently had an item of plant stolen from site and the police have not even bothered to turn up.
