I have a walking moticer, big beastie, 3phs, free to anyone that collects or it's going scrapies, which is a shame!!

 

Collect from where, and any chance of a model number or photo?

Had my wadkin years, never any trouble, 5 mins to change the blades when you get the knack, nice heavy robust kit [emoji1303]

I've seen nice ones go for over 2K "refurbished".

TBF. there is a ok looking one on ebay ATM. for £850 BIN. which is not too bad. However if it's for professional heavy use I would seriously look at the TERSA system, especially with hard timber like oak.

 

yeah thats one i have been looking at tbh , shame its a bit too far away for me to go and have a look at it.

Is the tersa system a straight swap for the original blades?

No TERSA is a different cutter block. Couple of standard blade Sedgwicks on ATM. for under a grand.

Not a Waddington or a Sedgwick but I have a SCM 16" planer thicknesser that I can't fault. 5.5KW motor with 2 in feed speeds on the thicknesser, cast iron in/out feed tables that are each 1200mm long and a 3 blade block.

The older Sedgwick MB has short tables and is a pain in the arse to change the blades over. Access to the cap head bolts is very limited and the infeed table has to be screwed out till it almost falls off. I couldn't wait to get rid of mine and bought a newer one with 4 tersa blades from ebay. The difference is amazing and would never go back to normal blades again.
