we are clearing a large area of our copse (mostly smothered in laurel) and we want to plant a number of different nut trees - filbert, cobb and maybe pekan

 

i have done an internet search and contacted a few nurseries for brochure - but wondered if anybody on here had a good contact

When i was at Tillhill, We used the Mahood Brothers Ltd alot, They are in Ormskirk in Lancashire. Ive been to there place many times and they are really good, The place is massive or at least it was last time i was there, They do nation wide delivery too :thumbup1:

What sort of size / form / numbers / varieties are you looking for?

 

depends on cost really - probably 50 or so mixed nuts - we want a good nut crop (not just hazel for wood)

 

i expect them to be bare-rooted and will take them at any size (we are not in a hurry for first crop of nuts)

look up Longstock Park Nurseries

 

owned and run by the John Lewis Partnership, only 7 miles south of Andover well worth a look, not abad selection of mature trees in the grounds either.
