With the recent addition to our membership of the renowned Mycologist & author of 'The Complete Encyclopedia of Mushrooms', G J Keizer has kindly agreed to contribute to a thread for questions & thoughts around issues regarding Fungi identification, clasification & biology.

On behalf of Arbtalk I would like to take this opportunity to say many thanks Gerrit for taking the time to enlighten us Arborists here in the Uk & beyond, to new & facinating depths into the world of Mycology.

Please feel free to place your questions here & Gerrit will look in when time allows & answer as many as he can.

You hereby all are invited to ask questions on the ecology or ecosystems of trees and macrofungi and to upload photo's for - if possible - identification of the species and information on the effects of the fungus on the condition and/or stability of the tree.

Thank you Fungus and Monkey. What an amazing resource you have now made available to us all :thumbup1:

I have no pressing fungal related questions to throw at you at this very moment, but you can be sure that I will have in the near future

Fantastic, thank you Gerrit

Steve,

I'm looking forward to receiving many posts from you, because every time one of your posts pops up, I enjoy looking a beautiful blue eyed young girl (your daughter ?) straight in the face.
