Morning all. Yesterday's plan came to fruition, nice roast dinner and got the trailer emptied. Physio first thing this morning then off to work. Have a good one folks.

I think you are right it's looking more like a blown head gasket on the right cylinder. It would appear from doing a bit of research online that you can still return a good com pression even with a blown gasket depending on where the gasket has failed. I'll take the head off and have a look. Thanks to everyone for your input.

I have the same machine. Ran like a champ season after season. Then I bought some other machines and due to one being bigger and more powerful (Kawasaki 45cc) and another being smaller and more manageable (Kawasaki 23cc) the Stihl got sidelined. Came to use it again and the clutch shat itself, so I replaced that with OEM clutch and ran it a few times. Then I left it with fuel in for a long time and the carb got gummed up. Opted for Chinese copy carb off amazon and fitted easily enough. Ran like a champ from the off. Used it a few times and noticed it was going out of tune quickly and now cuts out completely after a very short time of use (10-20 mins). Iβve got a few spare cheapo carbs to throw on it, but frankly if theyβre all as bad itβs a waste of time swapping them. Iβd either buy a genuine carb or get access to an ultrasonic cleaner and maybe a rebuild kit for the standard carb. i only own two pieces of Stihl equipment, and was a massive fanboy 15 years ago. Iβve had problems with BOTH Stihl machines since and none with my other kit. Doubt Iβll ever buy a Stihl machine ever again unless it was cheap beyond belief.

Thowlining paraphernalia recommendations
Oldfeller replied to Steve Bullman's topic in Climbers talk
These are pretty good, you can with a little practice get the saws, all the fuel cans, rigging, safety gear and enough food to see the day out, all in one go, with the added advantage if you misjudge it a bit you and all the kit will smash most of the top out saving a lot of work, and you can do the rest when you regain consciousness. -

Good work! Phew! p.s. What saw/bar combo are you using? Do you use standard 6mm burrs in your die grinder or have you bought a 1/4β chuck?

reminds of one time I came home late from the pub, the missus was fuming, but look I said,, I won you a fur coat in a competition, what kind of competition she asked,, the biggest willy competition, I proudly announced. looking somewhat horrified she said,,"you never got it out for the whole pub to see did you" I winked at her,,,"only enough of it to win" -

I canβt even go outside without my neighbours complaining about a giant penis being in my garden! (especially if I nip out for a slash π) -

take a little time with cucumbers, a slip here and there with the saw and the neighbours will be complaining about the giant penis in your garden, you know easily folks get offended these days. -

Itβs a real ambition crusher, thatβs for sure 𫨠I will work my way up to the fungi stuff in due courseβ¦ think Iβll start with the elegant form of a cucumber, or maybe a potato π₯ π -

I once made an old stump into a big toadstool for a couple after felling a tree for them, they were happy enough, even painted it to look more realistic, but that moose is off the scale. a buddy of mine did a few "tiki" heads for a luau type event. -

I wonβt be doing anything that fancy for a few daysβ¦.. Probably start with something I little more subdued and less βshow-offyβ like this bad boyβ¦. -
