I cant buy one of these cos im not a qualified tree surgeon (im a geologist :001_tt2:)

Just as a matter of interest, what ticket do you need, i.e. is there a cs for top handled saws?

Ive never had the need for one, but they look handy. How dangerous are they?

serious question, ive never used one btw, but obviously the kick back potential is increased? hwat else?

Also just wondering, whats the max bar length a top handled saw would generally run?

you will need to get cs30 which is maintenance of a saw. then cs31 which is felling a small tree and processing it.then cs38 which is competence in a tree and after that you can do cs39 which is chainsaw in a tree where you can use top handles saws

What would your main use be, Surely there are other things on the market eg. Silky. Yes you can get the from anywhere but not good advice imo. There totally are different to using a normal chainsaw and not ment for ground work.

It's also bloody expensive 'handy tool' to have once courses and purchased saw had been done.
