    Review: Reecoil lanyards

Versatile lanyards for all sizes of saw

    PROs:
    • Excellent length
    • Versatile options to attach. Multiple anchor loops
    CONs:
    • Cheaper products available

I'm not sure how excited it's possible to be about a chainsaw lanyard but the boys at Reecoil have put together some really well thought out kit. The majority of climbers will have got out on the end of a long skinny branch and reached out to find that the lanyard is already at full extension and still a foot or so short. Having had a good go with the "Full reach" and "Big boss" Reecoil seem to have solved this and included some nice touches along the way. The full reach has a couple of attachment points for carabiners depending on where you want to attach your saw. It seems to sit nicely tied to the top handle and keeps the bar clear of your feet and lower legs. The Big Boss is the bigger version for larger saws and happily takes a 660. Not used anything bigger with it yet but can't see it struggling. Won't be for everyone at the price and there are cheaper products out there but I'm certainly not disappointed.

    it's simply too long.

Excessive length isn't a problem I've ever had to overcome

I make my own with hollow tape and heavy gauge pole fishing elastic . Use the metal hoop from your old (possibly cut?!!?) saw strop and bunt line the karabiner end .
I shall post a picture when daylight permits .
A bit less polished than the Reecoil versions obviously, and this isn’t to take away from their fantastic design, but at least it’s cheap and you can customise it to your own lengths matron .

I find it too long. Most of the time I clip it back on my harness. But there times I’ll drop it.

I do like it, But for the cost. I wouldn’t be replacing it for another tho.

Nice lanyard but makes sometimes terrible twist with rope.
