Hi,

I am still in Nepal after 5 weeks and I have finished my involment with the Asian Vulture Conservation work working with the RSPB. I have been writting a blog with photos of some of the many trees we have been climbing to get to the nests. Also there are links on my blog with more information about the project and the problems. I thought many people on this forum would be interested in the work and I will write a full report and more pictures/videos when I return to the UK. Also I am possibly planning to do a slide show which I will forward details as an when. The trip has been amazing and the most rewarding and challenging thing I have ever done.

Hey thanks for the interest,

It has been amazing and the last 5 weeks have been a blurr of traveling, trekking, climbing and eating Daal Bhaat. I will write up more on the trip and the climbing side of things when I return. We ended up using a mixture of SRT/DRT, rock and aid climbing technquies to get to the nests as some of the nest where situated on very dead branches 35 to 40 metres up!

Thanks Steve Lucocq

Used to get really borring!

Are they still flying the trained raptors with the paragliders out of Pokara?

yes they still do it... I have worked with Scott who leads the parrahawking work in Pokhara. I am in Pokhara now and he is taking us out flying today! It seems like the perfect ending to this project. Cheers Steve
