IMO the big problem with spending money in order to get out there is once you get going you hit all traffic that builds up or someone slides into you, so you end up wishing you had just stayed home.

Also if you do get on site, tidying up is a real ball ache and often you end up having to go to go after the thaw to do a proper job.

My advice would be save your money and wait for weather to improve.

Your dead right Skyhuck. I consider that every winter but always go out anyway as it keeps the cheques coming in a bit.

When there is snow I choose jobs close to home, off main roads and with a small drag. Previously travel wasn't a problem as I had a Unimog, just had to remember to avoid downhill journeys. Now with a Transit van the problem isn't stopping, it's getting the useless thing to move in the first place!

Snow socks are £35 a pair.

save your money and stay at home in the warm my transit tipper is useless in the snow and bad weather and nobody will expect you to work in this weather.

i no what you mean though about wanting to get paid i just work out costings on 10 months of the year now and have snowy days as holiday
