Tree motion...??

I have had tree motion for sometime now...and i am away to replace bridge. ..but it is not the bridge that i do not trust..its the small green sliding D . just seems to light and fragile.

 

is there any other sliding D rings that are similar to the tree motion one..but larger and tougher.?

i also noticed when using the tree motion...when you need to double crotch and you have 2 karabiners in the green sliding D.they can sometimes get jammed...pushing together...which scares the crap out of as i am sure the sliding D is about to shatter.

 

would using 2 of these be better. ? a karabiner in each?

i use a mallon as another d ring on my skylotec so yeah should think so

yeah i think it is far stronger than the d ring that comes wioth the tree motion,.

DMM do a captive eye krab which is quite nice.

im not being funny but dmm make all the green and red parts on the tree motion do you really think one of the parts are going to snap.

 

I do also own a tree motion and love it.

use a swivel if you use a hitch climber...

if not id just use a couple mallions, they would have to be green though:P

Yeah petzl swivel is the way to go. You can use the swiveling hole for the main anchor and the other for a secondary as long as you use a small enough krab like the petzl OK.

 

As for the ring, its a rated part, probably as strong as some of your karbs, certainly as strong as a ring on a friction saver and way stronger than most friction hitch cord!!

i trust the ring, but dislike the metal on metal, not for safety reasons, more that it just annoys me.......i clip the krab straight on to the rope, it means the rope sits side by side on the hitch climber rather than behind, and also brings the system closer in taking more slack out of the system. all in all the ring seems kinda pointless to me.
