As said above i'd put the crane on the tractor. Then it can do more things thus adding flexibility and increasing it opportunities to make you money. Its your choice if you want it on the roof or under the window on a frame.

Forwarder cranes - www.kesla.fi

Well worth a look they come in all shapes and sizes. can be put on an EH system too.

Cranes to look at:

Kronos - most expensive

Kesla

Mowi/fmv

Vren (or however you spell it they were logbus)

Botex

Either way cranes are expensive but its better on the tractor than just on the chipper.

I appreciate your point, horses for courses obviously, but I've got a forwarding trailer and I don't want to limit my tractors usage by having a great big lump on top and wheels full of water. Ultimately I'm trying to save some dosh, not blow a load more..

I'm certain you could get a very cost effective solution with a Farma crane?

They do a huge range at a decent price and I would be confident they would get the job done.

A TP isn't going to be needing a crane in the full scale biomass chipper league?

Eddie.
