  1. Hi All, As per the title really. Super green with a saw, but a quick study and sensibly minded. I want experience as much as a job, but in reality I need to cover my costs too. I am interested in first thin, continuous cover, coppice etc. I'm coming to this from a horse-logging angle as working horses is where my experience is. Currently work 3 days a week with heavy horses so am either in North Oxfordshire or West London depending on the day of the week. Can realistically offer 1 or 2 days a week. I know this isn't exactly attractive, but I thought I'd put myself out there anyway. Hopefully I can be of use to someone, and can learn some stuff along the way. Cheers all.
  2. Hi my name Is Tevaughn Fritz, I am a second year Forestry and Arb student at Reaseheath College. I am Currently looking for part-time work in the Manchester/ Ashton-under-lyne area if any one needs an extra set of hands I am willing. Contact 07375352566 Email: [email protected]
  3. Hi, About me: 23 years old, been working as a domestic tree surgeon since I was 20. I have the basic tickets, CS30-32, arial rescue, chainsaw from a harness, stump grinder, chipper and basic first aid. I hold a full UK driver's licence and have my own vehicle. Of the last 3 years I have been climbing regularly for about 2. I'm not going to sell myself as the best climber going - I still have a lot to learn and master - but I'm confident I could be an asset to someone's team. I have experience working in all weather both up trees and on the ground, forest maintenance, roadside/traffic management jobs, garden and street tree work. I have a Level 2 certificate in Arboriculture and I'm currently studying the Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture through Tree Life. I'm currently working as a tree surgeon in North West England and I would like to move up further north and work in the countryside, but depending on what's available I wouldn't be opposed to working in an urban environment either. I just want a change of scenery and to try somewhere different if I'm honest! If you have need of someone like me please drop a message. I will consider any and all options 🙂 Thanks and have a nice day!
  4. Hi all, I am moving down to Hayle in Cornwall around the beginning of January and looking for work as a trainee climber/groundie. I am planning on staying in Cornwall two years minimum. I have my own saw, ppe, climbing kit and transport and have had almost a year of experience in the industry, initially on a part time basis and for the last three months on a full-time basis with several smaller domestic companies. I've had a good amount of experience working as a groundie and have gotten a good taste for the industry but as it stands I am looking to learn to climb alongside working on the ground and would ideally like to progress to being a full time climber. I have all my basic NPTC tickets (chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting, tree felling, aerial rescue + access using rope and harness and aerial use of chainsaw with freefall techniques + first aid at work) and am happy to supply references for the companies I have worked with. If this is of any interest to you please don't hesitate to get in touch. Thanks for your time reading this, Finn McEwan 07594 680 536
  5. Hello, I am a climber from the South of England with 3 years experience looking to relocate to the North of England, preferably in Durham or the general surrounding Yorkshire area. I have my CS30, 31, 38, 39 and 40 tickets, as well as Manual handling, H&S awareness, CSCS, Chapter 8, Chipper and Emergency first aid at work, with an IPAF MEWP operator qualification that allows me to operate Mobile vertical (3a), Mobile boom (3b) and Static boom (1a) MEWPS. While I haven't achieved my CS41 qualification, I have enough on the job experience with rigging and lowering to be competent and confident in my abilities. Please get in touch if you have any questions or inquires. Jack Emmerson CV - 16_06_2020(1).pdf
  6. Hi Folks, My current contract finishes end of March and thus I am available for work from 1st April. I hold a multitude of conservation-based tickets including (but not limited to): - CS30 & 31 - Pa6/Aw - B+E (Trailer) - Tractor Driving (+PTO's and implements) [Please see included CV for full list of tickets] I have 'on-the-job' training/experience in: - Felling medium trees - Wind-blown trees - Winching - Driving/Using a tracked chipper - Fencing - Coppicing & thinning - Basic survey & field/species monitoring work I have my own PPE and saw (it's only a Husq120mk2 for a coppicing contract). - Dependent on opportunity's available I will consider buying a better/bigger saw! 8. I've just got back from New Zealand and i'll be here for a few months. I am a self-employed climber looking for a couple of days a week, ideally in the Gloucestershire area but I'm willing to commute further if people are in need of a good worker and can offer a good rate of pay. 10. Coming towards the end of my college course, finishes June 20th and I am looking for at least a good 3 years solid employment in either Ceredigion, Glasgow, Newcastle/Northumberland (where I am from and currently based) or Bristol area. I have listed the various locations in the UK where I have good solid contacts and friends and would be happy to move to at the drop of a hat. By June/July I will have 6 months groundsman and climbing experience. I have 0020-03, 04 and 13 and will have chainsaw up a tree ticket as soon as I can get booked in, so well before June. I have a long background of traveling and working around the world (Australia, Norway, Japan, New Zealand) in mostly physical outdoor jobs. With a lot of experience in chainsaw use, I have trained in Tree Surgery to enable me to travel and work some more in Scandinavia and New Zealand, whilst in Norway the only unqualified job I could find was a salmon factory and I would rather be working in a profession I enjoy than packing fish! 26 years old, sensible, fit, strong and healthy non drinker/smoker, music hobbies and side business of music and record label. I won't last long working with people who like to talk about immigrant invasions or the so called threat of Islam, so need to have colleagues who have a source of information and conversation outside of murdochs news empire. I can provide CV and what I would expect to be stellar references on request. I have a place to stay in the areas listed too and would be willing to travel up for a week or two to do a paid trial. I do not know if this is a good way or the best way to find work, but you never know! I will also be contacting employers directly in said areas. Thank you Thank you for your time

  23. Hi guys, As you may have guessed I am new to Arbtalk so go easy on me... I have recently got into the Arb world after a major change of career direction. After university I started an office job but after a year I knew that I really wanted to work in a job that I enjoyed and found challenging. I am now 4 weeks away from completing a level 3 qualification in Arb and Forestry and gaining my cs30, cs31, cs38 and cs39 (or whatever they are calling them now). I realise that having tickets means precious little without experience, but I am now trying to look for work once I finish. I am not fussy, just want to get stuck in and gain some invaluable experience. I am based in Norfolk but would look at a short term opportunity anywhere. I also realise that full time jobs will be like gold dust so sub contracting would be just as appealing to me. I don't now if it is the 'done thing' to look for work on the forum, I guess I just thought firing the question into a group of industry professionals couldn't hurt. If anyone has any recommendations or knows of any opportunities in my area (or anywhere else), I would greatly appreciate any pointers. Thanks in advance, James
