  1. University of Exeter Commercial, Residential and Campus Services (CRC) This new full time post is available immediately on a permanent basis. Summary of the role This exciting position is involved in all aspects of looking after the tree stock across the Exeter campuses, which have a huge variety of trees in diverse environments including ornamental specimens and woodland settings. This climbing position is a key member of the Arboricultural team working to the highest industry standards, best practice and safety management. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to have a direct influence on the safety and presentation of the campus, working with veteran and champion trees as well as planting trees for the future. You will work with the Arboricultural manager to come up with innovative solutions and tree management practices to the many different environments that vary from a busy campus to woodland settings. You must have a passion for trees and take a sympathetic approach to their management. You will be supported in developing your skills and knowledge and be able to develop a relationship with the circa 10,000 trees on campus, working on them for long term benefit.   2. Lovely community garden on Sherrys Wharf estate by the river lee, managed by neigbours. Road access on 'Jarrow Way' . Leave chips on raised central garden in the middle of the estate square please. We're also going to use the chips on our back garden , right on the river (see last pic) , but theres no road access, so we're happy to wheelbarrow through. Wood chips only please, we're after mulch to keep the soil healthy! Thanks so much!

  4. Fowberry Farms Ltd: Woodland Work We are currently looking for a woodland worker to join our small team for 2 days per week at Fowberry Estate located just East of Wooler, Northumberland. This would be as a contractor and additional days may be required on occasion. It is essential that the right person holds a City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in Felling and Processing Trees Over 380mm (QCF). It is also essential that the right person is fully covered by their own insurance. It is desirable that the right person has some experience operating tractors and trailer based timber forwarders. It is also desirable that they have a basic knowledge of Continuous Cover Forestry. The personal qualities we are looking for is that the person is trustworthy and can work alone as well as part of a small team. Competitive day rate and the option of Deer Stalking permission as a proportion of pay available. The ideal candidate would be • Experienced in chainsaw use holding tickets for wind blow and felling large diameter trees. • Experienced in tree planting, chemical weeding of trees and fencing. • Experienced in tractor driving. • Able to work effectively with others in a team. • Have at least 10 years experience in a similar role and be physically fit.
