  1. Woodchip can be tipped in the school playground, we use it for paths and around the kids growing spaces. Please contact me first to check we have space - thank you.
  2. We have a community garden that is in need of woodchip and logs. Please feel free to drop off anything EXCEPT conifer and leylandii as they are too acidic for our purposes. The site drop-of point is at Westbury Arts Centre on the hardstanding behind the large barn. As you drive up the entry road you will see the area about 50 yards in front of you. The grass has got churned up by vehicles so there are currently some traffic cones to cordon off the area. Please move them to do your woodchip dump at the end of the concrete road onto the hardstanding immediately behind the barn. Please feel free to call me before you arrive if you need anything. It will typically take me about 30-mins to get there if you need me in person though.
  3. We are Kipling Estate Community Garden and Orchard. Woodchip can be left inside our estate for us to much our trees and reds.
  4. We are a community orchard and allotment site that needs regular wood chip for making compost, paths and mulching. Ideally not more than 25% leylandi mix, although we are less fussy if it's just for path maintenance. We are happy to exchange produce such as eggs and fruits with a local reliable, friendly tree surgeon who can provide us with wood chip. We are also looking for some logs and stumps suitable for a natural children's play area. Vehicle access to the garden is possible via two gates and a one way system, but if you have a wide vehicle it will likely not fit down the bottom track, so will need to be left at roadside. We would need to arrange a time in advance to ensure we had enough volunteers to swiftly move it!
  5. Community farm in Hartcliffe, south Bristol. Part of a Heart of BS13 which has several community growing and gardening sites around the city. The farm site has gated access point at the back, off Witchhazel Road. Always happy to take chippings at this and their other sites.

    30 Grove Park Garden

Any woodchip or log tip is very welcome and hugely appreciated, we have a large communal garden at the back of the house, woodchip is excellent for paths, mulch, compost, biochar making and soil building. Access is very easy straight to the driveway next to bins on top of a wood chip covered drive already, from the main road number 30 Grove Park on the right just up the hill from Chadwick Road large tipper lorry can drive straight up and tip! Thanks so much.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
