  1. as GaterthM says let the saw and chain do the work and dont try forcing it . also make sure your depth gauge/ rakers are right and not on the soft wood depth if they are give your cutters a few passes with the file .
  2. you could just have the wrong mount on the wrap bbr has just done a video on it .
  3. yes i agree the chain comes in 100 ft rolls but the cutters arn't hardened on the on the roll . as said the wood was clean with no nails and it was off the ground so no hitting dirt .
  4. i checked the cut and found nothing this is why i put it out there encase its a bad batch of chain .
  5. nope as previously said clean wood no nails as i checked the cut when i saw the missing teeth .
  6. no i only used it in clean wood and no nails in it either as i checked the cut when i found out .
  7. anyone else had a origon chain shed its teeth ? I've just had a chain on its first sharpen throw 4 teeth ripped the top plate's off . when i looked at the rest there was no under cutting from sharpening and no sign of them hitting anything . would this be a manufacturing problem ?
  8. As above if you have one of these get it checked as in the states they are recalling a load due to Laceration hazards where the chain break dosnt come on quick enough RE: chicanic's latest youtube slot.
  9. to a fashion yes but you need to trim a tiny bit off the draper battery slot .
  10. i have a few of their battery tools and they are the same as the draper equivalent eg. the 1/2 drive impact is the draper storm 1/2 in drive impact.
  11. and they are parkside which is draper which is god only knows . but hey as a domestic saw they aint bad.
  12. not sounding daft but have you checked the fuel filter ?
  13. my version " It’s a good feeling taking a saw to bits that doesn’t run and putting it back together and hey presto. it still don't run "
  14. when asked how to keep your wife happy 8 out of 10 said don't be home when she gets there and the other 2 agreed completely.
  15. Yes not only is it important as its part of the saw ,, but in this job you must have a screw lose but as you seem to have lost your lose screw you cant be in the club sorry bye bye.😁
  16. your doing it wrong if you need her to put her weight behind it...or as a lorry driver we just go yeh it'll fit just rattle it in off the walls.
  17. and what ever you do don't throw it in the recycling bin... as it will be sent back to you a week later as a STIHL MS291 3/4 special edition.😁
  18. I myself am in no way a professional faller but if i have a job come in i only have the choice of my 2 a 560xp running a 20" bar .325 and my little efco 3700 running a 16" bar and 3/8 chain . the 560 is used as my main and the 3700 is there as a back up for if i get the bar pinched or to do a bit of liming and let the 560 have a cuppa tea and a sandwich break.
  19. have you thought try changing your fuel filter as it may be starting to get blocked and causing fuel starvation at full chatt.
  20. up a tree without a saw . 😁
  21. so I ask are you leaving the saw on tick over for 1/2 hour before it cuts out or are you running it full chat for 1/2 hour then dropping straight to tickover ?
  22. The way the council is being I have suggested to him that he gets at least some legal advice and starts looking into the procedure of getting a legal aid solicitor as a follow up for letter handling and the possibility of a claim for the damages to his property. just getting his ducks in a line Stubby.
  23. Not only do I want him to season them for me as I'm picking them up for free i will only collect them if he supplies 2 boxes of fire lighters and a gallon of petrol .
  24. My thoughts are if your spark arrestor is getting carboned up it will glow and run hot . you can either remove and clean it or just remove it completely as it is only there to meet the criteria of dry area cutting where as when did you see a dry day in England's fine woods ?
  25. Right a update on the council in Bedfordshire yes i'm going to name and shame them as after many many phone calls to them and them saying it is a urgent issue to get sorted as of Thursday 20/7 my dad is still waiting to see a member of the council about it . so i have told my dad to go seek legal aid on the matter .
