  1. Being cynical, when I hear a sentence involving an ms250/BIG oak/all day-smoke/burning/puzzlement/rage and eventually tears would be exactly the outcome I would expect tbh.
  2. Damn, you spotted that did you?Note how I've left the scabbards/caby (and all the oily cack under the clutch covers)intact just to give you half a chance of competing 🦵
  3. A nice pair!? Suprised to see how heavy the battery saw is when compared like for like tbh-both fully loaded with fluids and scabbards on with 10" bars and picco 1.1 chains.
  4. Not a problem matey, I'll be boldy strapping on my 10" in the morn-whoops!Meant for my partner that...
  5. Never mind the samurais and DONT bring the kamikazes into this!I believe the Germans had the panzerfausts and panzers too-but that didnt go very well for either of them did it?Saying that, the Soviets had the T34's and also the Stalin organs but I'm not sure where the Russian chainsaws are at 🤔 Babushka.
  6. Slightly off topic, but isn't the msa 300 a full kilo heavier than the ms261?Which is just weird....
  7. Still competitive given its age tho-huh,huh?
  8. I forgive you Dahlink!
  9. Lovely hound,I had 2 of them many moons ago- bro+sis, mad as a box of frogs/needed shedloads of exercise but lovely temprements. 👍
  10. If I'm wrong, please feel free to call me a poppet-that would be one of the nicest insults Ive ever received tbh 💘
  11. Crikey, I'm asking for a hiding here, but I think the 5yr old makita I linked earlier is lighter than both of these saws (poppets) 💅
  12. Omg,tell me you Haven't pinned that lovely animal with 4.8mm round files to the horrific background! This is worse than the blair witch project.I'm off to the rspca hotline...
  13. Ah,I bow to your superior knowledge here, but remember being perplexed/pissed off with poor running issues on fairly new ones, and then having done the obvious checking of the air filter, assuming It was then a carb tuning issue (which it wasn't),One of those mysterious 'I can do without this hassle' issues.I can understand the hate, whether it is (or isn't) an issue, that now the e10 ptrol introduces to troubleshooting issues.
  14. Yes,I can totally get where you could hide a springer lying on that carpet, presumably no issues when you inadvertently step on a sleeping spaniel then?
  15. Wow,BITCH City here 😁,saying that, that carpet IS a crime against humanity, but, lets be forgiving and assume its an offcut from an unwise choice in a old bedroom and now resides in the shed!?
  16. This, makita DCS230T- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335024766310?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=9uH7MjJkTVi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=ddOCF9S7QRK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Lightest top handled saw available when launched, basically the same output as the ms 150/1 but lighter, cheaper.Getting hard to find now-see link, but parts availability is fine,l&s engineers etc, etc.
  17. They-I think, had spark arrestors in the exhaust. If so,quite plausible that its pretty much choked/carboned up on an old machine like that?
  18. I agree re: the makita top handled battery saw but NOT the 36v version.I use the 18v one a helluva lot up aloft and a 5/6 ah batt will do a decent amount of work on 4" and down stuff. The 2 battery setup sucks a lot of the pleasure out tbh weight-wise.I think the 18v bare tool is a really useful addition to your saw plan if you have other mak stuff and batts lying around-good chain speed too, think its the mak duc254 Off the top of my head.
  19. They are,top price, but aside from losing them, they will tend to last forever.
  20. If I recollect correctly, the kawi push/purge bulbs were black horizontal inline-usually UNDER the carb area-NO transparent bulbs involved.Also-probably not that useful, but check out the exhaust-they used to put the now de riguer spark screen arrestor which if heavily plugged/blocked will cause you all sorts of frustrating issues.
  21. Just a different take on adjustable spanners,I find these dont get 'sloppy' on both the worm gear and don't suffer from the sideways creep on the jaws that most conventially designed tend to.Not cheap, but you'll only buy them once. Also in my pic,the tiny wire cutters that laugh in the face lf agri fencing cuts-and these are cheapish too.
  22. Do you have an image of the carb purge/charge bulb?I remember them as a horizontally placed item rather than the now usual vertical top-down bulb in most m/c these days.
  23. Yep,that resonates quite strongly with me of kawasaki powered/badged engines from a few years ago both with single and double sided blade sets.If so,its worth a bit of effort to get back into service.Showing my vintage now,but there used to be loads of westmac 2/stuff about all with kawi engines, generally, they were all good hard working rigs.
  24. I mean if you're looking for a cutting edge, excitingly ground-breaking Tomato var. for instance, you need to pore over say,3 pages of several seed merchants latest offerings. On the other hand if you're in the market for a stihl pro saw-again,you need to pore over the prices/stats,weights etc. This you cannot do online.Taint the same-at all.
