  1. I normally state 1 week from site visit to preliminary AIA being emailed over. After that the ball is back in their court as to how long they take to respond/adjust plans etc. The whole process can take months. To me I usually get my responses/ammendments donw within a week. If it will be longer I keep them in the loop
  2. I have just replaced the AV rubbers on my ms460 after noticing it feels like something is sloppy. With new rubbers the feel is the same but I did notice that it looks as if one of the bits of metal isn't seated correct against a rubber. Even though it feels as if the bolt is fully in and tight. It makes sense to me that the metal washer thing should sit flush with the AV rubber. Picture attached. Does anyone know of this is normal or have a 460 to compare to? Thanks
  3. Has anyone bought anything from this webpage. It sells cheaper than normal arb gear. I'm always sceptical of webpages offering discounted goods especially when advertised to me via social media.. And feedback or reviews appreciated. Thanks
  4. OK thanks. I'll see if Google knows if not I shall take a punt
  5. Im in need on some new AV rubbers for my ms460. Looking on LS there are numerous parts listed for the same item. Im wondering if there are just the same or have subtle differences I should be aware of. Annular Buffer 1125/05 & 1125/10 or 1125/06 can be used in place of both of these. Thanks
  6. Nothing currently. I'm working freelance climbing. Looking to start taking on my own work again after relocating several years ago.
  7. Mine saved many hours on this job. A line of 15 pops to come down. Awesome bit of kit. I've named it the HARS- Hopefully Adequate Rigging System
  8. How do you find it without the self tailing bit?
  9. I have used a woodland Mills wc 88. It's OK. Slow and steady. Well suited for an estate wanting to chip the odd tree and shrubs etc. I'm sure if you ran it on a 100+hp engine it would be good. I've used it on a 48hp engine and it's very useable
  10. Yes this set up works well. I have had just this and a road tow chipper previously. I had a thing called a load handler Loadhandler UK LOADHANDLER.CO.UK The Loadhandler is designed to simply and safely unload your pickup of logs, woodchip and much more It simply fits... it worked well along with a potato fork. As you say 10 mins to empty what was about 2m3 of chip. That may end up being the option i take. Although a tipper has some benefits to it still. but still curious of the 2wd models and there load capacity.
  11. Yes. The naughties era ones
  12. A complete winch or GRCS?
  13. Does anyone use one of these for arb work set up with a tipper? I'm considering a small set up which could be one of these with a greenmech cs100...
  14. Hi, I'm considering adding Bat surveys to what I do. Does anyone know how to start this process? Is it a specific course/qualification to bats in trees or a generic bat survey thing? The end goal is to charge to inspect trees for bats. Ta
  15. Well that's the kick required for me to check mine...
  16. I really don't get this viewpoint on it. It has ample throttle control. Not once have I ever ripped through a hinge due to it being all or nothing.
  17. The 500i is great. I would say its durable to its been out for a while now with no major repeating issues. It can runs bars nicely up to 30" with skip chains. So really versatile with what you can with it. And light to. For me its superceded the need for a 661 for the majority of UK trees.
  18. Very little is required. You could open the plastics up and blow any saw dust out that been collecting...
  19. With my ident book I've narrowed it down to Caucasian fir Abies nordmanniana or Pacific silver fir Abies amabilis As both have most of the needle on top of the branch growing forwards..
  20. I didn't know there were many others doing it. I seen a place called Bellebrook arb that also ports saws. This is the first I've had done so I have no comparison. All I can say is it impressive. I also have a ms201 back handle booked in which I use for forestry snedding due to the weight of it. And of the back of receiving my 460 back I have also booked in my 500i.
  21. I'm going to assume it's a CA notification given its on a conifer.. The important date is the date the LA acknowledged receipt of your notification for works. Then they have 6 weeks to either do nothing, TPO it or tell you they aren't going to TPO it (rare). So double check correspondence from them acknowledging receipt of your notification, and then assuming 6 weeks have passed from that date and you've not heard then you can carry on. It's not bad thing to check online or drop an email/call to confirm particularly if the tree may actually merit a TPO, to be sure you've not missed any updates etc.
  22. Conservation area? TPO? Or no statutory protection? The answer will differ depending on which of these it is.
  23. Quick review of @Crocky porting. he done a ms460 for me. Its very impressive the difference its made. The 15 year old saw now holds its own (maybe better...) against the new saws like the 500i. The torque seems to be massively improved it just keeps cutting. So top work thanks. If anyone is after some porting get in touch with him.
