  1. I cut grass in a grave yard on a voluntary basis in between council contractor's cuts which are only 2 or 3 times a year. The ground is uneven and the contractors have given up mowers and strim everything. I tried a petrol hover mower but it's no good on uneven ground as it fails to lift. Strimming works best but is tiring and makes a mess if the grass gets long.
  2. I imagine getting tipped out of bed as in Wallace & Grommit

Since I was going past the drop off shop I stupidly used Evri to send a parcel. On 23rd August it was being transferred to local courier for delivery. Two hours later, tracking said 24hr delay. Since then nothing and there's more chance of speaking to the captain of the Marie Celeste than reaching a human at Evri. Fobbed off by automated responses repeatedly.
  4. Since you appear to have no interest in attending the course, can't you give the "free" place to someone who would appreciate it.
  5. Living in an area of heavy clay I can understand your situation. Surely the first step is to involve your building insurers and get their advice/opinion. Otherwise, in the event of a claim, they could say any action you take has made the situation worse. When you took out building insurance did you have to give details of any trees near the property? Good luck with the outcome.
  6. I don't know where any water would have come from in an air cooled engine but quite easy to fill the carb/air filter with oil if you turn the mower over with the carb downwards.
  7. I've got a little used Makita EA3501/14in which is now sitting doing nothing. Not the usual clamshell rubbish but well built and parts available should you ever need them. You'll find all the details on F R Jones website among others. Only ever been run on Aspen - yours for £100.
  8. Good point. This was was gas oil but I believe the non taxed low sulphur diesel is unlikely to have a full compliment of additives due to cost. I visited an independent suppliers tank farm recently and the forecourt customer specified additive package is put into the road tanker with the fuel prior to final delivery.
  9. I used to carry out emission tests on plant for some customers. The emissions from red diesel were much higher than the same engines running "white" derv because red lacks the additives and burns less cleanly.
  10. As a "weekend warrior" I have tried various chains and found Rotatech good value - probably the best of the budget chains. I was recently given a Tallox bar and chain which someone wrongly ordered. Both bar and chain was crap or scrap - hardly worth fitting.
  11. I fail to understand what the OP thought he could achieve with cutting into the trunk. Regarding damage to nearby buildings - what was there first.
