  1. That’s Cherry Laurel or Bird Cherry.
  2. Holly smells of cat piss.
  3. If he is free on Sunday Mick, send him round mine. 👍
  4. Apple and Cherry doesn’t fill your room with sweet scent neither, load of bollocks. Apple/Cherry doesn’t smell of apples or cherry when you prune, fell, chip or split it, the only thing that smells sweet and scented on these trees are the fruit.
  5. It’s the most powerful saw in the homeowner range so I would think so. Seen a lot of them appearing as training saws for CS30/CS31 courses, they seem capable and easy to handle for novices.
  6. 6th January, supposedly when the kings arrived to greet baby Jesus. They sell the king cakes in all the shops here and serve it at school dinners for most of January. I can’t stand it, horrible flaky and heavy pastry tasting of marzipan. 🤮 Imagine the H&S uproar in the UK, putting a chocking hazard in a cake for children. There are loads of variation to choke on, this one contains a Nemo shaped, tooth breaking, choke hazard.
  7. Auto tune is fine, IMO most saw problems are generally down to use error. Unless it is very large ponticum a 560xp is overkill. For petrol, any smaller Husqy would do, an Echo CS4310 is a great little durable coppicing saw, or the Stihl MS212 which has become a favourite in the training world.
  8. Does it come with a pie/pasty warmer and mini beer fridge?
  9. You could fire him up there with a ‘big shot’ 👍
  10. Isn’t that what the 7 stone piss wet young lad is for?
  11. Stubby, the Earth is flat you jackass.
  12. Tree Surgeon Felling Specifications 👍
  13. The newer battery saws have clutches, ballistics stop battery saws unless you are hell bent on trying to cut through them on purpose, or trying to burn out the electric motor.
  14. Stihl GTA 40, been out here a while now, got this as a birthday present for an upcoming job, I’ll do a review when I have put it through a decent test.
  15. You need to maintain and demonstrate the starting/safety checks on a petrol saw, then you can do the cutting with a battery saw if you want. Just hire a petrol saw from the training provider for the course/assessment then get the kit you actually need afterwards.
  16. I think it’s the silence between the cuts, aiding communication, that he is getting at, not the actual dB level.
  17. I’ll put an extra £50 in the RNLI box this year then. Just to make sure my friends who volunteer and risk their lives on the Eastbourne boat can get access to the best kit, and hopefully continue to save lives and rescue people in distress. I back the Kent air ambulance too, don’t live in the UK anymore but someone needs rescuing from a RTA or Forestry site everyday. My donations are voluntary and I don’t have clauses which dictate which human they save or let die dependant on the colour of their passport.
  18. I used the Stihl GTA 40 which was being demoed at a local dealer here. It was more expensive but way better than the GTA 26 if you have a decent amount to cut, the GTA 26 is marketed more towards the domestic market and mincers, it comes with its own handbag. I have an avenue of trees to re pollard in the new year, diameters up to 3”, could easily use the little Echo but quite fancied a bit of quiet working. Mine came with 6 batteries, charger and a hard case for storage.
  19. I think @Ty Korrigan might have some experience and advice 😂
  20. If you can’t find an NPTC assessor to do an NPTC refresher, try the LANTRA website and see if there is a LANTRA instructor who is more local who can do a refresher instead.
  21. And I bet his smells of perming lotion, being an hairdresser and all. Something for the weekend Sir?
  22. Show us a photo of your Landy, or does it run Diplomatic plates and is Top Secret.
  23. The daily Starmer seems to have overlooked something over on GB News.
  24. Thinking about getting an Arb Trolley. Any recommendations, is the Stein one worth the best part of a grand?
  25. Collected little Winny from a rescue centre at the weekend, kids are over the moon and she is settling in just fine.
