  1. I don't need 35 years arb industry experience to know what I have seen on this forum since I joined. I stand by my three categories, if you're putting yourself into category 1/2 then that's your problem, I didn't put you there. Maybe next Christmas you can ask for a bigger spoon to stir the pot with? πŸ˜‚
  2. That's how I felt getting up this morning after too much mulled cider last night
  3. It wouldn't worry me much either, You could always take it off at the end of the day. I suppose the addition of a DPF, Adblue tank and the computer to run the emissions kit makes it difficult to get under 750 and also less attractive to the potential buyer
  4. Fair enough! From the image you posted it looks good. Only thing I can forsee happening is the adjuster knob for the chute flap/vertical adjustment coming loose every 2 minutes and the flap coming over the chute and blocking it. A Similar thing happened on the Timberwolves and it was annoying as hell.
  5. AFAIK with new emissions rules coming in for diesel engines meaning that chippers will have to have a DPF etc fitted it seems they are moving towards petrol
  6. Didn't know they did the 165 sub 750 in a diesel?
  7. Out of interest what do you think is over-engineered in a negative way? Too complex?
  8. @Scottish Cleaning Service You don't necessarily have to have a small chipper if you're worried about work. Just get a low hour, good condition, second hand one. It's not going to devalue that much in say a year whilst you're trying to make a business. I'd rather have the capacity to deal with bigger stuff and if it all fails just sell it and lose a grand or two. Sure beats paying for lots of labour, logging up tiny branches and probably buggering yourself up physically trying to make do. Having rented the timberwolf trailer chipper with the Honda petrol engine and handing it back after half a day because it wouldn't chip hedging without jamming I think investing in good gear that can more than handle what you throw at it is the biggest bit of being successful. That greenmech chipper is a beaut by the way πŸ‘ŒI like the green/black scheme reversal! At 17k it's a steal!
  9. Well there's your answer. You got a file kit from years back. If it were me I would keep it, older stuff has always been better than the new. They cut less corners and scrimped less pennies back then!
  10. I really don't know what I said to upset anyone. Unless you're a gypo cutting trees without care, or you're calling anyone who asks questions an idiot you fit into catagory 3 and it's a complement πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ if you're offended its your own doing πŸ˜‚
  11. Sorry that I offended you somehow? πŸ˜‚ I guess you put yourself into catagory 1/2... I was on about here on arbtalk, not in life but okay πŸ˜‚
  12. I don't think the country is broken. There just seems to be two distinct catagories of arbs: 1) Don't care about biology and will do whatever to make money including killing trees older than them in the guise of pruning 2) Guys who know what they are doing but treat anyone who asks questions like the dicks in section one Sometimes there are the third type which most of the guys on the forum come under that know their stuff and are willing to help. From my experience Spudlike and Rough Hewn are perfect examples of those (there are others too before I get accused of favouritism) Things will come around, I just don't see the need for hostility, it's Christmas after all πŸ˜‚
  13. She was meant to say "Pink fluffy ones with chainsaws on" Like the rest of us asked for... Women πŸ™„
  14. I don't remember any stihl filing stuff being gold (cadmium/zinc) plated either?
  15. AHPP might be back soon, he can be your solicitor as he's a barrister or somin' πŸ˜‚
  16. Can't help with the skylotec but I use the Treemotion shoulder straps when putting anything bigger than a top handle on the harness. The Treemotion is designed to sit on your hips like a pair of jeans, not around your waist. It takes a little getting used to!
  17. I thought, you thought I was having a go @Joe Newton. Don't worry πŸ˜‚ Maybe I have had too many Christmas sherberts
  18. I've got no beef with Joe, It's not him saying that I don't know what me or Khriss are talking about, calling me a bull shitter, complaining about spelling or which words I decide to use. I didn't mean anything bad towards Joe by my post. I've just noticed recently this forum seems to have some "Hostile elements" πŸ˜‚ Are people having a bad Christmas? The OP obviously thought that the felling licences were a way of buying trees off the government to chop down not that you had to own the forest first, he got off lightly. Other guys have joined asking for help with something like a tree badly pruned by gypsies and made out to be an idiot by people. Just seems harsh, these are only people looking for help πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  19. I wasn't really showing off about the police thing. I was more on about the fact that I have submitted CCTV footage to the police from my unsigned cameras and they didn't complain about it at all or say that what I was doing was in any way illegal even though the footage was placed against them. I know that if I said about submitting it as a complaint to the police I would be asked about the backstory. Next time I'll just say "I submitted CCTV from my unsigned cameras to the police before without recourse" and then spend half my day explaining what happened when people inevitably ask which to be fair, would have been easier than being called a bull shitter for telling the truth about my experience πŸ˜‚πŸ™„
  20. I've changed the post now to save upsetting you.... If I said "I took the police to court" then I would be a bulls***er. If I said persecuted I could have asked for an apology or cut their hands off, or been abusing them racially for the last century. Get of your high horse before you have a nasty fall πŸ™„
  21. So a keyboard warrior who's anally specific about wording. Gotcha... I'll edit the post so you can go back to stroking your ego πŸ˜‚
  22. Jees, even if there was crap in there it doesn't warrant leaving it like that. I always have a "worn out" bar and some chains that only have a couple of sharpens left in them for that sort of job.
  23. Not exactly a great photo but not having to put in any physical effort and firing wood 30ft into the field is always fun!
  24. I mean, I'm not a lawyer and there wouldn't have been any case to be had here. I just don't like police that give police a bad name. I know a lot about liability law and how to cover my arse as I had to study it for 2 years. I don't really care much past that about becoming a lawyer. Both my parents worked for the NHS for combined over 75 years and I have seen enough to know the public sector have the S***** end of the stick. They are overworked and underpaid and I don't think the bloke deserves me chasing it to the court/free money for U solicitors just because he acted in an unnecessary way. If he hit me or something then it would be a different story mind. I just wanted him to understand that he stepped over the line and by the response from the professional standards team at Devon and Cornwall and the apology I received from them I achieved what I set out to do. The police already get enough crap from the BLM groups etc, they don't need a baton wielding renegade making matters worse and chasing people back into their home with a metal stick. I take it you are a lawyer?
