  1. Well, I appreciate that the emergency services have it pretty shit and I'm not anti-police so I wasn't really asking for a disciplinary but I wanted an apology from the officer. I also got told that he recently transferred from Thames Valley and is used to a generally negative response from the public. I was also told: Unlike a majority of Police officers on front line duties in D&C, MPC BROWN has not yet been trained in the use of Taser hence does not carry one. This means his only PPE is a Baton, Pepper spray and handcuffs. In all likelihood, if he were a Taser officer, he wouldnโ€™t have drawn a baton instead would more than likely opted to unholster a Taser. This probably would have gone unnoticed by yourselves as it far more discrete. Which sounds to me like I would have had X10 taser probes in my back instead ๐Ÿ˜‚ Either way I got an apology and a full explanation of what happened which is what I really wanted. I also found it funny that the police refer to Batons, pepper spray and handcuffs as "PPE" so I will be ordering those with my next set of steel toe boots on 0% VAT
  2. AFAIK you don't need warning signs. You can film public areas (I have them outside of the house on the main road) without asking permission and what you do on your private land is up to you. They only act as an additional deterrent. You *should* have signs if you are recording people in a shop or a publicly accessible building/area. I've used footage from my CCTV recording a public area to ask for an apology (Changed at @AHPP's request as he get's upset if you use the word persecuted) from the police at the start of lockdown when I saw a car crash outside and a police officer pulled their baton out and started walking towards me aggressively because I went out to check on my vehicle/check if they were okay. Apparently he was arresting a dangerous criminal that he rammed off the road (I couldn't see it was a police car) and thought I was a friend of said criminal that was about to fight the police off. That story didn't really hold up when I had video showing me stood 15ft away acting in a completely non-aggressive manor with a first aid kit in my hand. The worst bit was I was walking away back into the house when he pulled his baton and chased me up the road. They had nothing to say about the CCTV though.
  3. Thanks rough, some help sorting out my mill and getting a little experience definitely wouldn't be a bad thing. It seems that it's all on hold until the end of February though. Stihl dealers don't have saws, Mill dealers don't have bars ๐Ÿ˜‚ Oh, I love Christmas so much. ๐Ÿ™„
  4. Good it wasn't this year or they could only have 2 wise men with the 3 household rules ๐Ÿ˜‚
  5. Well it definitely will be a challenge. I've explained to the guys that I have no experience so they're going to give me a hand to work it out and do it. Always start with low expectations eigh ๐Ÿ˜‚
  6. Ah, that's a buggr. I have to mill 140cm that I know of but having the capacity to go bigger would have been nice too. I guess I will go with the 60" mill and 64" bar as that's meant to give a 142 cut so that should just do it. Price wise it's weird, PM60+64bar as a kit from chainsawbarsUK is 894+vat. From FRjones it's ยฃ695+vat. I can't see any difference minus a spare chain and it's definitely a panther mill. https://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/products/panther-64-chainsaw-mill-with-gb64-404-063-milling-bar-64/ and https://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/product/ppm-60-gb64-panther-horizon-heavy-chainsaw-mill-60150cm-with-gb-64163cm-milling-bar-404-063-180-drive-links-56142cm-max-cut-width/
  7. You're a legend! On another note, is there any reason why Panther mill kits are ~ยฃ200 cheaper than chainsawbarsUK? Am I being dumb and missing something apart from getting 2 chains from chainsawbars UK? Also, is there any reason to not get a larger mill, say a 80" and run a smaller bar on it? Say a 64"? It would be nice to have the capacity to tackle anything but using a complete 80" mill all the time seems excessive?
  8. I have it on both sides of the piston though ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ It is what it is. I wonder if a little of the hylomar got squished in from the base gasket and that caused it, it's super soft though so I'm not certain. Another question. I appreciate you make your money from tuning so if you don't want to answer then I get it but when you have tuned 200t's have you been measuring the squish on each one and custom doing each one or have you found that a certain thickness of gasket/no gasket is right? I'm going to measure it up tomorrow otherwise!
  9. Well, between being open about your product and the other guys who run it having no issues you have a new customer. I picked up some more Aspen4 today but when I run out of HP Ultra I will switch to Aspen 2!
  10. Considering that all I will be using them for is picking up oil and stuff from now on to save on postage I don't think they will have the opportunity. The company you recommended to me before will be getting my ~ยฃ1300...
  11. Never actually noticed that... I was going to get an external oiler as a matter of course but you don't use one? I assume you have knocked the little oiler lock out pin in so you can use full flow?
  12. Well 40/41... It was just odd, it wasn't him being a "by the book salesman" where they say "It only comes rated up to 40" and that's all you can use on it. On Stihls Blog it says you can run 46" and more. It was more of a case of him saying the new 881 was eco freindly and green and wouldn't work on a mill. Even when I said about using 65" bars with a hyperskip he was saying no. According to him people have been trying to run them without external oilers on big bars??! He told me the only way to make them any good is to port them and upgrade the carb to something adjustable which he then informed me would void the warranty obviously ๐Ÿ™„
  13. Well the fact that it's got these polished wear spots suggests it's been running a tad dry? The only thing I could possibly think it is, I used a gentle smear of hylomar on the seal, maybe a little bit came off? It doesn't harden or anything and the stuff in there is like a thick grease but seems odd,
  14. I've watched your videos and a load others and I was in no doubt that it's not less powerful than the 880! It seems like their tech is a bit "Old school". Considering that I don't think they have had any experience with the saw I didn't read into it too much. The fact he said it would only run a 40" bar and wouldn't run a 65" hyperskip which would be less resistance than a 40" standard says a lot... I would love to give you their number and you can give them what for but considering they know me and by the sounds of it I am the only one who has really enquired about a 881 so they would know who it was I don't want to dig a hole with the local dealership ๐Ÿ˜‚ I just won't be buying saws from them
  15. It just seems like more wear than I would expect after 10 tanks, that can only get worse. I'm more concerned about a cause than anything else
  16. That's just little spatters of oil, there's no dust at all. I put some hylomar on the plastic joint on the oem filter as I know the seal isn't perfect on these. The filter mounting plate, intake boot etc are all spotless. I immediately thought it sucked something in but these are more like surface scratches from being in the cylinder than anything else, you can't feel them and you can only see them under the right light. It was more the flat polished areas that confused me...
  17. I'm just pissed off to be honest. Spark plug doesn't look like it's been lean, if anything it's running on the rich side but I am happy with that. There's a good amount of oil in the crankcase and everything is wet...
  18. Also on a slightly unrelated topic I've put around 10 tanks through my 200t and I fancied messing with the squish. I took the piston off to be greated with this... Vertical lines on the piston, not feelable with a fingernail but they are there. Theres also an area on both sides where the machine marks have been polished off. What's that about?? @spudulike that's not right is it? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ
  19. I'm not that much of an a****** to mess with someone's business like that. Apparently the carbs are limited with 1/4 turn jets and you can't remove the limiters. The only way to make them any good is to port them ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ He said it's all green and isn't powerful enough to run anything decent ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผ You can see why going for a drive to pick it up from an interested dealer is more and more interesting for me!
  20. So I just went to my dealer and enquired about 881's. I was told in no uncertain terms that it won't pull anything over a 40", milling will kill it, it won't pull a 65" hyperskip and I need to buy an 880... ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚
  21. This is where ratings are a little useless and spec sheets from testing are an interesting read for the inner nerd in me. It's like engine oil, you can buy the cheapest Tescos garbage that meets a manufacturers spec, lets say ford WSS-M2C913-C. You can also buy Castrol Magnatec for 4x the money that also meets "and exceeds" WSS-M2C913-C it's how far the product exceeds specs that matters!
  22. Out of interest, although your oil is a closely guarded secret do you have any specs or photos from your testing? Stihl ran tests with BR600 blowers to compare oils which showed deposits and wear after 500 hours of continual static use. I'm sure that your oil is up there with the HP Ultra and Amsoil (which surprised me at 100:1 although the top of the piston was crusty) but it's nice to see what you got if you have it available?
  23. Ha! There's a lot paperwork with ability to look through water flying about right now ๐Ÿ˜‚ Every day is a school day and all that. Looks like I have been told by aspen! When I've run out of Stihl HP Ultra I'll give Aspen 2 a crack
  24. Well, guys have been using fuel for centuries and not died of it so I doubt you would keel over The ethanol is damaging to the engine plastics and can suck in water as it's hydroscopic so that's more machine. Petrol has benzines iirc and a few other chemicals in it that are bad for you of which there are almost 6 times less in Aspen from memory. I would say Petrol vs Aspen is like Smoking vs Vaping! Both are bad for you but one is definitely worse.
  25. Ah, sorry, I'll be a lot more careful about my spelling whilst sat drinking scrumpy and chilling out, my auto-correct changed it to boarder. I didn't realise this was a GCSE English test. FYI, if you are going to take the piss out of people for a minor spelling mistake then don't use words that don't exist like "Unsubtley" Bare in mind I'm not the one telling people they will be covered no matter what, I'm telling people to read the fine print and check their position. I've not said anything that could put someone at risk, only things that would get people to read the fine print twice. *edit* my mistake, Unsubtly does exist, just a pot calling the kettle black situation where the oxford dictionary didn't even recognise the way you spelt it ๐Ÿ™„
