  1. Thanks for the replys,a great help! I de railed and debured the bar this morning fitted a new chain and she ran all day perfect still not sure which one of the two was causing the problem, but I guess I now know the bar needs to be spot on aswell as the chain,I will get a spare bar ordered up,so not to loose any time, the other thing I was warned of was trying to put to much pressure on the lever when cutting, trying to force the chain through the wood quicker will wear the bar out quicker than anything ,as he got a point? ps I am useing the corect bar and chains,I have checked and double checked.
  2. Yes I have turned the bar,but that was before it started playing up,,I have a new chain and the sproket has no wear on it,should know more when I get home tonight,it is a standard Husky bar and chain,my other problem is sharpening the chain, cant do it on the machine and trying to run it round an old bar in a vice is very hard, cant get any pressure on it any very wobble.
  3. The bar and chain are from Husquvana, one of those aliminium core things, wonder if there is a more durable out fit.
  4. I got a new chain today, and will dress the rails in the ,morning and try that, not much out of a £60 bar though,I keep a bar for years on my chainsaws, must be a whole different ball game these processors.

  11. Just picked up a Japa 300 mobile, thing was working very well until the chain and bar struggled to cut and started smoking, after taking it off I could see the bar is bent, looks like a flimsey thing that you can bend easy with you hands My question will a normal, say Stihl bar and chain fit and will the oil holes line up.....Thanks in advance

  14. My splitter is a OMA Italian machine, splits a cube bag in under 13mins Best thing we have, thats a cube bag not a 0.7 builders bag. its cutting the stuff thats holding me back i think
  15. No I wasnt thinking slower, but would need to be significatly faster to warrant costs,we are getting around 12m3 for a 8 hour day, cutting from the stack splitting then in a bag and put in the shed, thats me and a £80 chap, may I ask what m3 would come from 12T?
  16. Im in the same boat at the moment,I have plenty of proccesor sized wood up to 15" or there abouts, where can I hire one from?curious to see how much they speed things up,could be a case of, can the op afford not to get one, Im happy to purchase one once I see the results, the only experiance i have is watching a bloke faffing around trying to get logs through a Palax one day, looked like hard work compared to a sharp saw and a fast cycle splitter.
  17. Oh...need to up my game a bit then, Thanks for the input guys no wonder we are struggling.
