  1. Can anyone tell what I'll need to do to my husky 357 in order to convert it from .325 to a 3/8 please? The reason is that having read about skip chains in another thread, I fancy getting one for my 357. But from a few internet searches, skip chains aren't available in .325. The saw has recently been ported by spud and is a demon as it is, currently running a 13" .325 bar & chain. I'd like to have it running an 18"-20" 3/8 combo. Maybe the conversion will be pointless but I'd like to give it a go if it's not too big of a job. Thanks in advance, Sion
  2. Look good, price? Thanks.

    My passion

I'm another passionate shooter. I've got a cz .204 for vermin and a howa .243 for larger species. I also have a coupe of rim fires and shotguns. I'm into every type of shooting, game, pest control, wildfowling, target and stalking. I've found that being in the tree business really really helps to get shooting permission. Cheers!

Nice shooting pal, what calibre is that? What reloading gear do you use? Cheers, Sion
  6. Echoing the above comments. I had one as a vac but it I couldn't get along with it, it kept clogging and twigs were a nightmare. As a blower it was reliable and good on fuel, but always seemed a bit underpowered and heavier than a two stroke motor. I ran it for two years with no problems at all, doing the usual garden maintenance jobs - grass/hedge clippings and leaves on the autumn. Sion
  7. Job update We have had quite a few lads on trial and none have made the grade, therefore we are still looking for lads. We are happy for self employed contractors to come in and do the odd day if that suits. We really need to get through the work that's piling up! Thanks Sion
  8. Tom- We tend to do stock fencing during the winter and rhodi's the rest of the year. I would've thought that as long as it's not frozen then anytime of the year would be fine. Josharb- I guess it depends on how big the job is, we treat/clear hectares of dense rhodi's and have a lot of competition so every penny counts. Sion
  9. We use the small 4/5litre sprayers but obviously don't pump too much! Used to use a 20% mix but found it gave patchy results, every plant dies with the 50% mix. If you get small regen then just snap it half way up the stem and apply the glyph to the break, works really well. Sion
  10. Not used the eco plugs but we do a lot of rhododendron control, stem inject being our main method. Using a 50% mix of glyphosate it's extremely effective at killing the plant. Ecoplugs are pretty expensive compared to stem inject. Sion
  11. We're looking for someone self employed to help out with a mass of work that needs completing before Christmas. This job may result in full time 'on the books' employment for the right person. We are currently on a big stock fencing job and have a couple of weeks of knotweed spraying to do asap, we also carry out chainsaw works. Ideally you will have PA1 & PA6 and some experience in stock fencing, cs31/32 desirable but not essential. A desire to work and punctuality is more important to us than qualifications. The company is based in Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd and work will be within 25 miles of the yard. Rates of pay negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Please PM if you're interested. Thanks Sion
