  1. Can’t seem to post the Link on this but it’s easy to find. What’s shocking is alternative views such as this receive virtually zero MSM coverage.
  2. Coronavirus: Stay indoors or be fined APPLE.NEWS Boris Johnson is drawing up plans to fine people who breach self-isolation rules amid mounting... More rules, more control, hotlines for people to inform on others !!!!. Not long ago people would have laughed at you if you’d described this scenario. Sooner people realise this is bullshit the better, The initial lockdown failed as will this latest rubbish. We have never been able to eradicate common cold or Flu type viruses nor will we this one. As an observation the amount of compliance now ingrained into society regarding the masks is sad to see rather than “superb” as a politician described it on TV yesterday.
  3. Boris being there or not regardless of your politics is neither here nor there. The approach by the UK as a whole not just England is broadly the same as most developed democracies. Sweden went a totally different route that looks to have paid off, looking for individual national characteristics to explain it is pointless. I do recall many on here advocating masks and much much more and deriding those whom voiced a different opinion. As previously stated the initial catastrophically damaging lockdown is starting to look more and more like a total waste of time. MSM has long since lost any credibility in regards this virus. I’m just wondering when if at all people will wake up and kick back against the level of control being forced upon them based on downright deception and lies.
  4. J I’d say there is a reluctance to admit Sweden got anything right as that’s pretty much admitting the rest got it wrong big time ?‍♂️.
  5. J I’d not let the self isolation thing worry me. By sounds of it like myself you are out in sticks and tend not to be in amongst big crowds. Old fashioned common sense counts for more than any bit of guidance or regulation.
  6. Yeah it really does J, something similar in one of Winston Churchill quotes about swimming against the tide as I recollect. J check the list of exemptions from quarantine or self isolation when you return. There are numerous categories, I’ve just come back via Holland with 28 other guys none of whom had to self isolate, we filled in the online form for entry into UK ticked the exemption box and gave reason why. Regarding the being treated better I think it boils down to sheer numbers etc as does the whole sensible way of going about your business. For years now in the UK it’s been an attitude of you mess up the state will sort you out. Nanny state to the rescue, too soft etc and we end up with the piss poor mentality we have now to many things. As I said in previous posts I’m amazed no one is actually asking the questions regarding the ineffectiveness of the first utterly pointless lockdown.
  7. We’re vindicated, say Swedes after coronavirus cases hit new low APPLE.NEWS Sweden has registered its lowest rate of positive coronavirus tests yet even after its testing regime... Well if it wasn’t so tragic it would be laughable.
  8. Flew back from Bergen via Amsterdam few days back and the difference in countries attitudes and approach is incredible. Norway, no masks unless you wanted too not really much distancing lots of hand was stations. Basic common sense I’d say. Schiphol was a mix of two camps. Pretty sure the masks were on a guidance not enforcement basis unless in the departure lounges at least that’s how it seemed, distancing was in place but once again common sense played a big part. On the other hand like some thing out of a sci fi movie there were groups of predominantly Asian travellers in full hazmat suits with masks, goggle, visors and latex gloves talk about brain washed and scared into conforming ?‍♂️?‍♂️. Landing in Aberdeen was back to nanny state SNP rules with an overzealous jobsworth policeman going up and down the line pulling people up for not having masks fitted correctly or the correct distance between each person. I felt guilt and a degree of sadness taking the pic of the father and the little kid, shameful that this is classed as even remotely acceptable.
  9. J I’m afraid I’ve felt this way from day one of the lunacy that is Covid. Myself Andy and several others on here have stuck with this line from the beginning. There is no logic in much of what is being enforced. The level of utter control will be ramped up until people say enough is enough. Sadly even on a forum of supposedly independent thinking predominantly self employed individuals those whom questioned the whole virus hysteria were derided not that long ago. We are being duped on a scale never seen before either intentionally or due to the inability of political types to own up to the fact they totally got it wrong right at the beginning and feel they cannot get out of the lie. At least you are not under Sturgeon rule, Scotland’s cases have been nowhere near a level to vindicate the restrictions we have had to adhere to up here. As I’ve said before I know of no one whom knows anyone who has died of this virus. What i am aware of is the number of guys whom have become unemployed over this bullshit pointless lockdown period. In my case it’s 8 personally including one of my lads and 6 at the firm whom I predominantly contract too. Myself I’m currently about 60-70%down this year vs last with no chance of turning that around. The ironic thing is no one is holding these politicians to account over the whole point of the initial lockdown and it’s manifest ineffectiveness in doing anything of long term benefit. The Swedish guy whom took an absolute pasting over his approach at the beginning of all this has every right to stand in front of all his detractors and say well I told you so you bloody fools.
  10. Jokes aside the ability of politicians to walk into work in the morning and come out with a new set of guidelines which are enforceable under law with the new legislation passed in regards this virus and have them out the next day has got to be a worrying thing. We are sleepwalking into a situation that once in will be difficult to get out of. Cases are cases they are totally different to deaths. The MSM fear mongering is embarrassing as is the lack of alternative views being voiced, or at least being heard in the media. Now it’s six people, no one complains now it’s talk of curfews, no one complains, now it’s talk of Covid wardens, no one complains or at least it’s never reported. The sheep that constitute the vast majority of the population seem to just accept anything that’s being put out. Lockdown has achieved absolutely nothing except destroy the economy and jobs, people’s mental health and kids schooling. Has the virus gone ?? No of course it has not as flu and colds never go !!!. Common sense for years has allowed people to get buy, the jokes about asking a workmate loaded with cold to keep away from you or not going to see an elderly relative if you yourself were poorly are long standing behaviours, you don’t need political zealots or bloody scientists to tell you what to do in every way shape or form. The projected models for deaths etc have proven to be totally and utterly pessimistic to the point of stupidity but it’s never mentioned anywhere ?‍♂️. The whole thing is a monumental farce of the highest order, unfortunately many many fools are still following every single bullshit bit of guidance and legislation to the letter and without question.
  11. I’d be looking at other options or thinking out the box for something that would do the same job. Avants seem to be the flavour of the moment and fetch crazy money. JCB 403 or similar are out there in good numbers and for far less money.
  12. That’s probs one of those socially acceptable BLM rallies with zero police intervention days out.
  13. ?‍♂️?‍♂️ No need, regardless of not wanting to move there I still think they got it right and the MSM Fed hysterical crying scared easy led masses here swallowed the bait big time. Its no coincidence that we are starting to see a tiny drip feed of reality now that even the most ardent believer is faced with facts that totally undermine the crap put in place we are having to deal with.
  14. Agreed to some extent but cases are cases as are cases of seasonal flu. They are not deaths ?‍♂️?‍♂️. The deaths and icu occupancy have faded to totally insignificant numbers for a good while now, It’s the ludicrous economically catastrophic over reaction and pointless mask type protocols still being enforced on people that’s gonna need sorting out before this thing can stop having the effects it is on everyday life. The doomsday scenario believers and those whom promoted it including hammering the Swedish approach must be wondering right now did we get this totally wrong.
  15. I’d say what’s happening is we are still having the piss taken out of us big time. Time is long since past that someone should have had the guts to say we have messed this up big time and way way over reacted to the MSM hysteria. Shame the government didn’t stick with the original plan rather than be panicked into the farce we are still enduring. So many whom ridiculed the swedes should be embarrassed big time right now.
  16. Can’t believe that this has taken so long. I wish the absolute scare mongering and hysteria would abate and common sense could start to play a bigger part as has happened in Sweden from day one. On another note I’ve just viewed the video of the guy being arrested and sprayed on the train for not wearing a mask. That police officer was an absolute disgrace and clearly not fit in many ways to carry out that role. He basically assaulted the guy whom was stating the truth ie he does not have to disclose medical information that pertains to him not wearing a mask. Way way too keen to get physical and quite frankly the guy being arrested showed great restraint under the circumstances.
  17. Yeah that would be the one
  18. No ran out of time, I did it for a favour for lads in yard. I’ve told them it will need some sanding and a few coats of something. To be honest once I’d finished it I was reluctant to hand it over ?. Chain morticer is a great bit of kit I must admit. Very easy to use and saves a huge amount of time.
  19. Lives inside on rainy days, only gets out during those legendary Aberdeen summer days ?‍♂️?‍♂️
  20. No normal lads but it’s what timber was lying around and the last thing I want is it ending up wobbling all over the place with 6-8 guys on it. I’ve been asked by a couple of them and one of main office types how much to do the same again so I guess it appeals to some.
  21. Hoping to make a few more tables etc and the short pieces required for the legs would probs be easier on a dedicated bandsaw but I was sketching out a few jigs last night in regards the sawmill option and what would make it user friendly. Keep your eyes open Andy down your way if anything comes up ?.

    Table

Not too sure if it qualifies as woodcraft but it’s made the lads at the maintenance base of one of the firms I contract too happy. In and and out for tea breaks depending on the weather with the forklift. Frames built from DF 5inch beams milled myself and the table top/seat is just some surplus 290x70 beams. Solid to say the least.
  23. Hi All looking at my options for a decent bandsaw. 240V would be the preferred option, primary function would be cutting tenons in up to 6 inch beams normally softwood ie DF or occasionally hardwood. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or experience good or bad.
  24. Yep but the madness prevails right now. My 11yr old twins have had to get on the school bus today wearing masks to head down to primary school. The 7 kids on the bus are the same ones they play with at weekends and at school etc indoors and outdoors. Total and utter bloody stupidity. Sturgeon literally could pull anything out the hat at the minute no matter how illogical or lacking in evidence and the disciples would blindly follow. More worrying still is the zeal with which police Scotland are embracing the new powers allocated to them to deal with people whom have a modicum of dissent in them.
  25. Cheers Andy Very well thought out design ?, way better than the woodlands I can possibly get an easy fix on mine due to the way I’ve set the rails above the chassis of the trailer, should make fitting something reasonably simple. You still in quarantine??. We are possibly heading into Bergen to take fuel and shelter from this weather due in tomorrow night. No shore leave unfortunately due to MSM corona virus ? induced hysterical panic syndrome.
