  2. Cheers for the info Mr spud. Have got the wee plastic things on order. The was wear on the engaging faces.. Rounded as opposed to nice and sharp like on a new one I looked at. Thanks again for the help.[emoji106] Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Cheers. I'm the second owner of the saw. So will assume the previous feller had fatter thumb than mine. Will have a look inside again in daylight. Thanks again [emoji106] [emoji106] Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Evening.. Ive 550xp. It runs well and I cant fault it. But do love my 254 more. The 550 has a issue..I can use the full choke setting. No problems. When it comes to "push up then click down for a bit of high idle" it does not engage. Also its need for the hot start procedure. I can "unprofessionaly'" feather the throttle and yoyo start it. Not the best way if the boss is mooching about. Do any of you gurus have any experience with this.. Ive stripped it. Cleaned and oiled the working parts. Ordered a new red switch thingy. Any help would be great. Cheers Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Make staples out of thin rebar To tie the courses in. Drive the odd one diagonally to help tie in as well. Have a decent lean back to reinforce the slope (a batter). Go heavy with the cement mix as water will leach it out of have active flow. If laying in water look for a compound called seeker. Its a anti wash out. I done miles of this underwater on diving projects before falling back into tree work. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Blew out the rear diff on my Landrover mewp.. Was hopping and a banging. Poor old thing. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app

  9. Firm I'm with has got two of these. Pretty impressed by them. The stop bar seems way to slack a slightest tap shuts off the infeed. Is there any way to beef it slightly. Obviously not to a point of not working but a happy medium? Thanks in advance. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. 94 stihl 020.runs great and husky 254xp 97. Also runs like a beast. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. I wear a army CWC g10 watch. If want a nice chunky one look at the tracer watches. The are tritium light sources. Ie don'tfade in the dark. My one lasted years but lost it overboard on a diving job few years ago. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Cheers for the input gentleman. Got line today. Had 3 climb's with it. (Boning up some ash on HV) yeah work well in the zigzag. Happy days. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app

  15. Tidy... Cheers matey.. Been using 13mm tachyon from my CE climb set up but way to much friction and pretty much no self tending. 👍👍 Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Hi. Getting issued this line in work to use with my zig zag set up... Any one have any experience with this line? Cheers. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. I've picked up the tennis ball catapult. Got a old knackered throw bag with half the shot missing. As long as you get the throw line running tidy it will throw it. For 10 quid off eBay ita a laugh and you can annoy your team leader with crab Apple's from a tidy range. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Yeah I use a pantin with my zigzag. Its a realm help when your away from the maib stem. I picked up a petzl croll for next to bugger all on eBay. Bit of line and some bodgibg and a bit of elastic and have got a homemade hass. It works pretty well. Don't come out the bag often as not in trees that long on utility cutting. Cut chuck and next span. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. We use tourniquets on the lifeboats and I had training with them in the engineers. Once you put them on... Leave them on.. Mark forehead. With date time. Do not release. Anecdotal evidence of a guy having lower limb be on for over 12hrs and still saving limb. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Got x2 spikes. Don't use em all the time. But find them pretty comfy. But I am long in the leg. (Thick in the head) the lower strap is a pain but I've swapped em out for a pair of straps which the pole climbers use on our patch. Has helped. Did have a ropey old pair of Klein's. Now they did hurt like hell. Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. 3 men captured by female savagers, are told their dicks would be removed, in a manner appropriate to their jobs. 1st was a lumberjack so his would be chopped off, 2nd was a butcher, so his would be sliced off. 3rd man started laughing. The females asked what was so funny. He replied 'I work for dyson!" Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Firm I'm with has gone from hiflex to Krieger trousers. I too find them comfy. Few small niggles thou. The bottoms have no elastic so if your climbing them can ride up over your boot. Personally infuriates me. And the orange hi vis panels will hold up to domestic work. But utility work. Crashing through bramble, thorn and barb wire soon cuts them up. 23. Haha thought the milk had gone off..... Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Yup. Use gunk to degrease and if the plastic needs a bit more colour I put them in dishwasher. I do live on my own. Don't try and strip repaint it's a huge effort... I should have listened to spud..... Sent from my A0001 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. Good old assault boats . Heavy as sin to carry but so damn versatile. Did a diving job once. Ended up lashing 3 together.. putting a timber deck on it and a minidigger.. fun times.. Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
