  1. Very nice set up there. I had a 101 vampire that i converted to a camper wiv a tdi lump in it. Miss it soooooooooooo much. Used to drive her over to my inlaws in france every month and she was a total head turner. Had a little caravan with all the tools in and it doubled as a workshop and crib hut. Thanks for posting these up Borris
  2. Good point Skyhuck, this is one area where perhaps more manufactures/dealers should take note. That the arb world is now better connected with a bigger voice than ever. Its not just the APF once a year where we all get together and grumble about poor service/workmanship. Arbtalk is where future deals will be made and lost imo Just like to say, Redwood have always been cracking with me
  3. I have to say my Forst tracked chipper is great, used most machines in my time, but the forst is one hungry beast!! I find a lot of 6" machines are chipper first, trailer second, with some compromise between the two. If that makes sense? The reason I went tracked was so i can move it long distances on a stable twin axel trailor . the cost may be more, but in the long run its proving cheaper/more reliabble. Agree with skyhuck on TW and Entec, take a look on ebay and there are loads of resprayed tws, not to mention decals galore!
  4. Came over to France yesterday, 8 saws, 2 combi cans, blowers, axes, silkys, and tracked chipper on trailer. Not one question from rent a cop.
  5. I do it on an almost monthly basis and have no problems. Inform them at the gate and they will tell you what to do. Also take the chipper and stumper on occasion and no probs. A few times on BF i have been told to put on hazards and get escorted onto boat and away from truck, rent-a-cops and jobs worths mostly on customs and almost always on the UK side. Borris
  6. wot he said. Pfanner are light years ahead and will last ages. If cold wear long johns! Arborists are my choice over the Gladiolas, pricey, but you will be more productive and what price do you put on your legs?
  7. Where people have had gearbox issues, is that just on roller models or on 4 wheelers aswell? Gonna replace our Hondas this year and like the look of Kaaz, but these lawnflights look the same, and less money:thumbup1: Borris
  8. I may be interested in a decent climber to assist me in France. Mostly Brittany, but I have work all over. PM me a cv and I will let you know.
  9. Thats not a bad idea, and I have a tirfor, the problem is when on my todd. working tracking and cranking at the same time would be a test.
  10. Just bumping this to see if anyone els has done this and has photos of location, bracketry etc Borris
  11. Can anyone tell me what rules France has for roadside work. Hi VI's requirements and will my chapter 8 cut it there? Not got big roads to worry about just town and b road type of things. Also beacons on trucks etc? Cheers Borris
  12. Daisy chain the slack just in case you need the extra.
  13. Seen um stacked on end in a builders bag then hiab on off truck. That was in Belgium
  14. Will go fr Jones in the weekend
  15. That sounds about right it had a 20" bar on it, but too much bar imo. Dropped a spare 15" I had on it and it flies. the guy wouldn't sell it head only. Borris
  16. I think about 400 frogs(€) when I looked? The 562xp was just under a grand €
  17. Website! I doubt they had a phone! it was rustic to say the least. Will haves a look for the invoice for address. Get a day ticket and pick one up, fill the boot with plonk at same time:thumbup: Borris

  20. Picked up a 562xp in France last week, now thats a knife!
  21. I think it would also help lowering down banks etc. I have had to lower the sidewinder from the Forst on occasion insteed of risking the bigun. Borris
  22. That looks a handy size, what make i it? My forst tracked has a little winch on it, but good for pulling in brash, want something a bit meatier for the stumper cos its heavyer:thumbup1: Borris
  23. It looks like a neat recovery, I see lots of reductions that must of been done from the roof of a transit with a caravan on the back. More reason to hire a pro
